Enrolling requires using the Samsung Members app, locating the prominent One UI 5.0 beta program banner inside it, tapping that, and registering your details and device. Once that's done, it's normally only a few minutes' wait until you'll get an update notification. The beta in question is labeled as build G99xBXXU5ZVHE, where...
The next iPhone SE will finally drop its current design and switch to one that will allegedly be identical to that of the iPhone XR from 2018. That is, if a new rumor on the matter is to be believed. Its source is Jon Prosser, talking on the Geared Up podcast, and he has provided reliable information in the past, so maybe this does in fact pan out. But you probably shouldn't get the bubbly ready just yet, as there was a new iPhone SE launched earlier this year, and it came two years after its predecessor. And thus, if Apple keeps the same release pacing for this series, it means the new...

Smartphones have become one of the most important and must-have gadgets for every adult all over the globe. From being a fancy piece of gadget a decade ago, smartphones have become an essential piece of hardware for everyone quickly. There are over 2 billion Android smartphone users globally and millions of iPhone users.
Phones these days are used to communicate, exchange mail, media, and more. We also use the phone to store private data such as personal IDs, government IDs or even work-related confidentiality files. This also means keeping your phone from viruses and hackers is a must. In this guide, we will take a look at how to know if your phone has been hacked.
In addition to that, we will also mention multiple methods to keep your phone safe from hackers and also what to do if unfortunately your phone is hacked. Let’s get started.
Also Read: How to Check Battery Health in Android Devices
Let’s take a look at some of the ways wherein you can identify if your phone is hacked.
If you are getting too many pop-up ads and too many inappropriate apps from third-party services, it is more likely that you have installed a malware/spyware app which is pushing these kinds of popups. In such cases, make sure you are not clicking on this content as it is extremely harmful.
When you check your call logs or SMS, you might see phones to people whom you might not have initiated and SMS to senders you might not know or not initiated. If this is the case, there is a good chance that your phone has been hacked.
If your phone has been hacked, the system performance might be affected and due to this, the phone might act sluggish and performance will be slowed by a huge margin. And, also some apps might open automatically without you initiating it.
If your phone is hacked, some spyware uses a high amount of mobile data or Wi-Fi, which you will be able to take inside the phone’s settings easily. Make sure to check on the high-usage apps and investigate or uninstall them if needed.
While modern-day smartphones can last a day easily most of the time, it can vary based on usage. But, if you are experiencing rapid battery drain, make sure to check which app is consuming most of the battey and investigate the same.
If your phone is hacked, it is possible that the hacker keeps messing with your phone settings. It might be as simple as brightness settings or data settings. If you sense that any system is behaving abnormally, your phone might be accessed remotely.
Smartphones are almost useless without exciting apps. Most of us download 100s of apps, but sometimes, we might also install apps unlocked from unknown sites. It is good to regularly keep a check on the number of apps on the phone and keep removing the unused app.
If a hacker gets access to your phone, they might use your social media accounts to take advantage. If there are unrecognized activities on your social media or mail account connected to your phone, it could mean that the hackers have got access and you can immediately change the password or deactivate it temporarily.
If you have not received any phone calls or messages for a while, there is a good chance that the hacker has cloned your SIM card and used your SIM
If you think that your smartphone has been hacked, you can follow the below-mentioned steps or methods to be on the safer side. Not all methods are appropriate for everyone, which means it is better to perform all of these methods one after the other to eliminate the threat.
You can go through the list of apps installed on your phone manually and check if there are any suspicious apps, you can uninstall them immediately. Sometimes apps installed won’t be available in the apps list, you will have to check them manually inside the settings.
Go to Settings > Storage > Apps and check all the installed apps on your phone and uninstall the suspicious or unrecognized apps.
Probably the best method to eliminate the hacker from the phone is to factory reset the phone, which will erase all data including images, videos, files, etc. There is a good chance that the phone will be free from threats after a factory reset as it removes all the third-party apps and services from the phone.
Check out: How to Format or Reset an Android Phone to Factory Settings
How to Reset Your Apple iPhone to Factory Settings
If you have shared your phone’s lock screen or any other website/app with your friends or family in the past, it is better to get it changed as more people will have access to your phone. It is also a good practice to keep updating the password once in a while.
While there is a built-in security feature like Google Plat Protect, sometimes some spyware apps can bypass it, so it is better to scan the full phone of threats using any anti-malware (anti-virus) apps.
If your phone was hacked and the hacker has posted inappropriate messages on the social media platform or via SMS, it is better to let them know that your phone was hacked and you did not have control of your phone for a while and wherever they have received it was from the hacker and not your. It is better to post a message on your timeline if it’s social media.
Here are some of the tips to stay safe from hackers.
Be it iPhone or Android, it is always recommended to download apps and games using the official store. If you download any app from an unknown site, it can be harmful and sometimes, it is difficult to uninstall these kinds of apps as well. For Android, you can use the Google Play Store and for iOS, there is an App store. Google Play Store comes with built-in security which scans millions of apps and games on the platform regularly. Although there are other sites to install APKs on Android, it is still recommended you stick with the Play Store.
Make sure you change the password of the phone and apps and services you use regularly. It is better to change or update the apps used at least once in a year if not more frequently.
It goes without saying, you should not share your passwords with anyone. Sharing passwords with others can be harmful as they’d have access to everything that’s sitting behind your password.
Once you root your Android or jailbreak your iPhone, it causes serious security issues and due to that, many banking apps will not work on the phone. Not only that, but this kind of phone can also be a threat as it can be hacked.
In case your phone is hacked and stolen, there is one way to track it. On Android, make sure you have enabled the Find My Device and turned on the GPS and the same thing goes for iPhones as well.
It’s 2022 and everyone should start taking advantage of the 2FA, which adds an additional layer of security to apps and services. If you enable 2FA on apps and services, it’d ask for an additional security code, which you’d get on your phone or mail ID after entering the password. Even the person with your password can’t access the account with your password as he/she wouldn’t have the security code. 2FA or Two Factor Authentication is available on popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Twitter and more.
Make sure you are not storing your passwords on your phone in a note-taking app or anything similar. If someone can take a look at the notes, all your passwords will be exposed. Instead, you can use a good password manager app.
Smartphone makers usually push critical security updates and software updates regularly, so make sure you’re on the latest version of the software on your phone.
You can use a good third-party app or built-in app lock on your phone to protect your confidential files and sensitive information.
Hackers can also enter your phone and get sensitive data using a public or open WiFi network. In case you are using public WiFi, make sure you are using it with a good VPN, which will protect you from being attacked.
There are many ways that your phone could be hacked, hackers might gain access from an apk file or public Wi-Fi and many more methods.
While this is not the best method, yes, Airplane mode does protect from hacking in most cases as it cuts access to Wi-Fi and mobile data on the phone.
In short, the answer is Yes. There are a bunch of spyware that could compromise your device and anyone with the right software and expertise could use your phone’s camera to spy on you.
No, it is not possible to hack via just a call, unless you give the info and details they are asking for.
Not all apps can identify all sorts of hacks and spyware, so make sure you follow the aforementioned methods to check if your phone has been hacked or not.

Apple's official confirmation of its September 7 iPhone 14 series event was the key event to influence this week's trending chart. Not only it helped the iPhone 14 Pro Max retain its lead, but it also lead to a true Apple invasion lower down the ranks as people started comparing their existing phones as they considered upgrading. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra rose to second as the Galaxy Z Fold4 foldable lost more steam and is now down in seventh. Yet another phone from the Korean company, the Galaxy A53, completes the podium as the iPhone 13 Pro Max's charge came just short and it ended...
The TWS market is full of options from different brands in different price segments. Consumers looking for a decent pair of TWS in the market can get confused because of the choices. Besides, it’s tough for a brand to stand out with so much competition. Realme seems to be aiming at a particular price range to try and attract people. The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo, at Rs 1,999, is the perfect trap — it has a bunch of features to offer at an affordable price.
We’ve used the Buds Air 3 Neo in metros, cabs, rickshaws, gyms, and at home. After having used it for nearly a month, here’s our full review.
At this point, it’s pretty tough to come up with unique designs as far as TWSes are concerned. We feel like we have seen all types of iterations with the case of the earbuds. From gaming to a case that looks literally like an egg, yes, Pixel Buds A, we are looking at you. But this one takes a slightly different approach with a half-and-half capsule look. Essentially, the lid of the case is made of plastic which is see-through.
The case is designed well and slides into your pocket with ease. It does not eat up a lot of space in your jeans pocket either, so you can keep your phone in the same pocket without any issue. We prefer this case design over the OnePlus Nord Buds CE. We received the white variant for this review, but the Buds Air 3 Neo is also available in a Starry Blue colour.
The case sports a ‘Realme’ logo on the front, with the bottom side housing a USB Type-C port for charging. Between these is an LED light to indicate whether the device is in pairing mode or charging. The charging case lid has a satisfying click whenever you close it. At this price point, we were expecting the lid to be somewhat flimsy, but in our experience, it was quite sturdy and worked well. You can close and open the lid with just a hand, so that’s good. The earbuds sit flush in the case thanks to the magnets and do not fall off even after yanking the buds multiple times. On the downside, the case was quick to gather dirt and minor scratches on it.
The buds look pretty stylish with a dual-tone design continuation here as well. The stem sports a reflective glossy metallic finish, while the rest of the buds look like a typical TWS. The buds are light and made of good quality materials. We prefer earbuds with silicone tips as they are likely to be more comfortable, and the Buds Air 3 Neo comes with the same. The Buds Air 3 Neo are quite lightweight, with each unit weighing just 4 grams. You get two silicone tips in the box and a USB Type-C cable for charging.
The Buds Air Neo 3 features an in-ear design, and these are quite comfortable. We have used these for about four hours on a stretch while travelling, and they did not fall off even once. The buds sit flush in your ear, and the silicone tips create a vacuum. We tested the buds by performing our usual yawn, crunch, and awkward jumping tests while wearing them, and the Buds Air Neo 3 showed no plans of falling out. So, if you are worried about the buds falling off when you are jogging or running on the treadmill, worry not. The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo are IPX5 rated, so using the buds under water drizzles should not be an issue.
Realme Buds Air 3 Neo Review: Connectivity and touch controls
It took us a couple of days to figure out the controls on the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo. Both the stems are touch sensitive, so all the controls are located on the upper side of the metallic stem. The left earbud lets you play/pause the audio by double tapping. Triple-tap lets you listen to the next track, while touch and hold lets you lower the volume. The right earbuds also have the same set of controls except for the touch and hold, which lets you increase the volume. We found the controls to be inconsistent and sometimes needed more pressure than usual to work. Also, it can take some time to get used to the controls.
The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo can be paired with both Android and iOS. Realme also offers app support via Realme Link. The Android app shows you the battery percentage of each earbud but not that of the case. The iOS app is not updated, and we couldn’t find the Buds Air 3 Neo on it. Realme Link also lets you customise the sound effects. So, you can switch between ‘Bass Boost+’, ‘Balanced’, and ‘Bright’ modes. Pairing the Buds Air 3 Neo is a breeze. Opening up the case lid starts the Pairing process, and it’s just a cakewalk thereon.
The Buds Air 3 Neo features a 10mm dynamic driver that is equipped with PEEK + TPU composite diaphragm, which the company claims can give more volume and better bass performance. We played a slew of songs and watched a bunch of TV shows using the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo. Songs range from Bollywood to Pop and EDM as well. We found the audio quality of the earbuds to be quite good for the price.
We tried all three presets that the Realme Link app has to offer. The Bass Boost+ preset works well with more emphasis on the low end. Songs such as World’s Smallest Violin by AJR, Ava by Famy, and Srivalli had clear separations that we could decipher. The Balanced preset is also able to produce sound well with a neutral soundstage. Finally, the Bright preset focuses more on vocals and the lower ends sound muffled on it. We usually used the buds on the Bass Boost+ preset as that added a bit more oomph to the songs we usually listen to.
The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo also has support for Dolby Atmos — this lets you tweak the equaliser and other presets. Watching content using the earbuds was also a good experience. We did not notice any major distortion at max volume. However, we usually listened to music and other stuff at 50 per cent. The Buds Air 3 Neo does not have Active Noise Cancellation, but the silicone tips help reduce some parts of the excessive noise.
We used this while travelling in the Delhi Metro, and at 50 percent volume, unnecessary noise wasn’t very audible. As for the microphone quality on the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo, it was quite decent. The call receiver was able to hear us well, and they said the voice clarity was good. The earbuds also feature a low latency mode for gamers, and you can enable this using the Realme Link app.
The Realme Buds Air 3 Neo has impressive battery life. The company claims around 7 hours of battery for the buds and 30 hours with the case. We were able to use it for about the same without a need for a top-up. The charging speeds are also quite good. You can charge the device using the USB Type-C port at the bottom of the case. With 10 mins charge, we were able to use it for more than an hour at 50 percent volume, which is quite good.
With a price tag of Rs 1,999, the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo TWS are a good catch. It offers a good design for its charging case and the earbuds themselves. Moreover, the Buds Air 3 Neo is one of the most comfortable earbuds we’ve used. Even after travelling in metros and running on treadmills, the earbuds stayed in place, and we had no issues with their placement in the ear.
The battery life of the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo is commendable, and so are the charging speeds. The earbuds call was also good as the receiving party did not complain about the voice. The Realme Link app is quite useful. However, we would’ve liked it had they also updated the app support for iOS. Hopefully, in the future, this can be fixed. Overall, we enjoyed our time with the Realme Buds Air 3 Neo, and with companies such as Truke, Boat, and Noise already in the market in this price segment, the Buds Air Neo 3 can be a good choice for people who want a TWS for casual use.

Android 13 is an exciting update for most users according to your answers to last week’s poll.
