LG G7 One Android One With Snapdragon 835 SoC, G7 Fit With 6.1 QHD+ Display Announced Ahead of IFA 2018

While we have been waiting for LG to give us clues about the LG V40, the company has been working on getting more out of the LG G7 brand name. During the IFA 2018 show at Berlin at the end of this month, LG will announce two new phones called, LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit.

Yes, you read that right, we are going to have more LG G7 variants to choose from. These new models are going to be cheaper versions of the LG G7 ThinQ. In May this year, LG launched the G7 ThinQ, which is their flagship smartphone. It is a great phone, but did not sell very well.

The LG G7 One will be an Android One smartphone, which means that it will receive OS updates faster than other devices. The LG G7 Fit is just a watered down G7 ThiQ, without all the high-end hardware. LG officially announced both the smartphones in a press release.

LG G7 One: Specifications, Features

As mentioned earlier, this is the Android One smartphone from LG, which will be showcased at IFA 2018. It is also the first Android One device to come from LG. The phone will come with a 6.1-inch QHD+ display that is available on the G7 ThinQ. You get slim bezels, a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a notch.

Internally, the phone is powered by last years Snapdragon 835 processor, which is coupled with 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. A microSD slot is available for storage expansion. The phone has a single rear camera with a resolution of 16MP, and there’s an 8MP sensor at front for selfies.

A 3000mAh battery keeps the phone running, and it supports Quick Charge 3.0. Like the G7 ThinQ, it also has a 32-bit Quad DAC, and DTS:X support. The display is HDR10 compliant, and the phone has IP68 and MIL-STD 810G ratings. A fingerprint sensor is available at the back. It will run stock Android 8.1 Oreo on launch, and will most likely get an update to Android 9.0 Pie later this year.

LG G7 Fit: Specifications, Features

The LG G7 Fit is a less powerful variant of the G7 One, and comes with a Snapdragon 821 chipset. It has the same 6.1-inch QHD+ display that is available on the other device. Once again, it has the notch and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It is also HDR10 compliant, and gets both IP68 and MIL-STD 810G ratings.

The SD 821 processor is coupled with 4GB of RAM, and up to 64GB of internal storage. An LG G7+ Fit model will also be available, which comes with 64GB of storage. LG has included a microSD slot for adding more storage if you need it. Again, no dual cameras on the Fit either. You get a 16MP sensor at the back, and an 8MP unit at the front.

This phone also comes with a 3000mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0. There’s a fingerprint sensor at the back, and the phone has a 32-bit Quad DAC with DTS:X support. It will also run Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, but with LG’s own UI.

We are not sure what LG’s plan is, but these are the phones we are going to see at IFA 2018. There will not be an LG V40, which according to leaks and reports, is going to be an amazing device.

The LG G7 One and G7 Fit are mid-range smartphones, and LG wants to sell them at lower prices. The company hasn’t really given any details on the pricing or availability, so we will have to wait till the show to find out.
