Airtel Rs.195 Prepaid Recharge Plan Launched: Offers 1.25GB of 4G Data, Unlimited Calling for 28 Days

Bharti Airtel is building on its prepaid portfolio and the latest to come from its arsenal is a bundled prepaid recharge plan of Rs.195 offered in select operational circles of the telco. The new prepaid plan joins the ranks of similar combo prepaid plans launched by Airtel like the Rs.249, Rs.199, Rs.168, and more.

The Latest Prepaid Plan from Airtel

The latest prepaid recharge plan from Airtel is an open market plan, offered to all the users in a similar fashion in the select circles. The Rs.195 prepaid plan is valid for 28 days, but except for voice and data benefits, the pack offers no SMS benefits. It is not yet clear whether the telco plans to launch this plan across the country.

Rs.195 Prepaid Recharge Pack

The latest combo prepaid plan from Airtel offers no SMS benefits, unlike other combo plans, offering only data and voice calling benefits to its subscribers. The calling benefit includes unlimited local, roaming, and STD calls without ant FUP limit. The data benefit gives the user 1.25GB of data daily which when tabulated, gives a total of 35GB of data to the user over a period of 28 days.

Limitation of the Rs.195 Prepaid Plan

The unavailability of SMS benefits restricting it to a voice calling and data benefits plan. The latest Rs.195 prepaid plan by Airtel is limited to the subscribers of Kerala, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and a few other circles where the telco operates. Also, the Rs.195 prepaid recharge pack can only be subscribed through the telecom’s website. It is yet to get listed on the telco’s MyAirtel app.

It is still not clear whether Airtel wants to introduce the Rs.195 prepaid plan country wide or not because Delhi and Karnataka circles have denied the plan’s availability in their region.

Rs.195 Prepaid Plan vs Rs.168 Prepaid Plan

The Rs.168 prepaid plan was also launched by the telco recently as a segmented recharge option offering unlimited calling, SMS, and data benefits to its users for 28 days. With this plan, the subscriber is able to enjoy unlimited local, STD, and roaming voice calls without FUP limit, daily 100 SMS, and 1GB of data daily for the entire 28 days of the plan’s validity.

In comparison, the freshly launched Rs.195 prepaid plan offers 1.25GB of data daily for the same validity period, as well as unlimited voice calls unimpeded by FUP limit. But what this plan lacks is the SMS benefit. But if you plan to opt for the Rs.168 prepaid plan instead, it would be good to remember that it is a segmented plan offered to select customers only.

Then the ideal option to choose would be the open market Rs.199 prepaid plan which for a similar validity of 28 days, offers its users a data benefit of 1.4GB of data daily, unlimited voice calls to any local, STD, or roaming number, and 100 SMS daily.

Vodafone Idea’s New low-cost Plans

Recently, Vodafone Idea Ltd. removed their basic talk time plans of Rs.20, Rs.30, Rs.50, and such, from their roster. Instead, they have introduced Active Recharges that offers its subscriber talk time, data benefits, and discounted tariffs for a minimum recharge period of 28 days.

With competition at its peak in the Indian telecom sector, it won’t come as a surprise if Airtel plans to counter Vodafone Idea’s move by offering something similar to their subscribers in the coming few days.
