Jio GigaFiber: Overwhelming Response from 900 Cities
According to Reliance, the demand by the consumers is huge and within two weeks the company has received registration requests from over 900 towns and cities across India. However, JioGigaFiber is facing some resistance from Local cable operators (LCOs) in various markets. A company official said, “We are taking proactive steps to resolve any last-mile connectivity challenges to prioritise and ensure timely roll-outs in markets where consumer registrations have been strong”.
He further added, “The Company has got enthusiastic consumer response from nearly 900 cities across the country”. The company had originally targeted close to 1,100 cities and towns in its original drive and has received good response from 900 cities in just two weeks since the registration commenced on August 15.”
With this response before the official roll-out, Reliance Jio will be tough to beat for the local operators and other broadband service providers like ACT Fibernet, BSNL, Airtel.
