Nikon Launches Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras – Z6 and Z7 in India

Poplar Japanese camera manufacturing giant, Nikon, has launched two new cameras in the Z series in India – the Z6 and Z7. The cameras are the first full-frame mirrorless cameras to be launched by the Japanese giant in the country.

First full-frame mirrorless camera:

The company had just unveiled these cameras last month and just in a matter of a month, it has launched the devices in the country, which shows that there is some demand for full frame cameras in India. The cameras were launched in New Delhi, last week along with three lenses that are compatible with the Z series.

The Z6 and Z7 feature a full frame with backside illumination and also a Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor that comes with an in-built focal plane phase detection AF pixels. Both the devices are powered by the company’s proprietary image processing engine, which is the EXPEED 6.

Nikon Z6: Features

The Z6 is the lower end of the device and is priced at Rs. 1,69,950. The Z6 coupled with the standard zoom lens, the kit, and the Mount Adapter is priced at Rs. 2,26,950. For the Z6 and the standard zoom lenses comes for a price of Rs. 2,14,950. The camera along with the kit and the adapter costs Rs. 1,81,950. The Z7 is priced at Rs. 2,69,950 and it comes for a price of Rs. 3,26,950 when it is packed with the adapter, kit and standard zoom lens.

The Z6 is branded and marketed as a mid-range camera device. Despite this tag, it comes with an impressive range of features. The device comes with a 24.5-megapixel capability and can also support a wide range of ISO 100-51200 standard sensitivities.

Nikon Z7: Features

On the other hand, the Z7, which is a high-end device, can capture images with the clarity of 45.7 megapixels. It can support ISO 64-256000 standard sensitivity range. When combined with the NIKKOR Z series of lenses, the Z7 full frame camera can produce extraordinary quality and sharpness in the images, including up to the edges of the images.

The new range of lens that has been launched is totally compatible with both the Z6 and Z7. The lenses launched include the NIKKOR Z 35 mm f / 1.8 S that is a wide angle prime lens, the NIKKOR Z 24-70 mm f / 4 S that is a standard zoom lens and also a standard Prime NIKKOR Z 50 mm f / 1.8 S.

One of the improvements made with the new range of lenses includes the fact that it comes with a bigger diameter mount in comparison to the earlier lenses launched by Nikon. Apart from this it also launched the Mount Adapter FTZ in India, which will help users to mount incompatible lenses with its latest range of cameras.

The company has issued a statement regarding the launch of the devices in India that read “With superior performance at high sensitivities and full-frame 4K UHD movie recording with full pixel readout, the Z6 responds to a variety of needs, such as shooting in dimly lit environments, and movie recording,”
