Samsung Galaxy P30 Colour, Storage Variants Leaked Ahead of Launch on October 11

A report out of South Korea recently revealed that Samsung might soon unveil two new Galaxy P series smartphones – P30 and P30 Plus. While Samsung has not confirmed anything yet, it is being speculated that the smartphones might be officially unveiled at the company’s upcoming ‘4X the Fun’ launch event on October 11. Ahead of the launch event, an exclusive report published by SamMobile has shed light on the Galaxy P30 storage and color options.

Samsung Galaxy P30: Storage and Color Options Revealed

According to the SamMobile report, the Galaxy P30 will be available in two storage variants – 64GB and 128GB. The smartphone is said to be offered in a total of four gradient color options – Blue, Pink, Black, and Red.

Samsung Galaxy P30: Rumored Specifications, Features

The key highlight of the Galaxy P30, which carries the model number SM-G6200, will be an in-display fingerprint sensor. While quite a few Chinese Android OEMs have released smartphones with in-display fingerprint sensors this year, the Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus will be Samsung’s first smartphones to come with the feature. Samsung’s 2019 flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S10 is also rumored to feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, unlike existing smartphones with in-display fingerprint sensors, the Galaxy S10 will not utilize an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. Instead, the smartphone is tipped to feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, which offers greater accuracy when compared to existing solutions.

As far as the rest of the specifications are concerned, very little is known at this point. Interestingly, however, it is rumored that both the Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus will come equipped with LCD displays. While existing LCD panels are incompatible with in-display fingerprint sensors, Samsung will reportedly use new LCD panels from JDI, which will be compatible with in-display fingerprint sensors. We can expect both the Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus to feature Full HD+ resolution with an 18.5:9 or higher aspect ratio. There is no word yet on the processor, although there is a good chance that the two smartphones might run on an Exynos 7885 octa-core processor, the same chipset that powers the Galaxy A7 (2018), which was launched in India earlier today. Alternatively, the smartphones might also come equipped with a Snapdragon 600 series processor under the hood.

Samsung Galaxy P30: Expected Launch Date, Pricing

As we mentioned above, there is a small chance that the Galaxy P30 and Galaxy P30 Plus might be made official at Samsung’s upcoming event on October 11. The company is expected to unveil the camera-centric Galaxy A9 Star Pro at the event, which could be the world’s first smartphone to feature a quad-camera setup at the rear. According to recent reports, the smartphone will have a 24MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle camera, 10MP telephoto lens, and a 5MP telephoto lens. On the front of the handset will be a 24MP resolution Sony IMX576 sensor for selfies and video calls.

While no release date has been confirmed yet, it is rumored that the upcoming Galaxy P series smartphones will be launched in China before any other market. There is a good chance that the duo will remain exclusive to the Chinese market, at least initially. This isn’t surprising, as Samsung’s main agenda currently is to ensure that it can recover lost market share in China, the world’s largest smartphone market.
