Taiwanese PC hardware and smartphone maker ASUS is set to launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 at an event in India on December 11. Ahead of the smartphone’s launch, it has made an appearance on the popular Geekbench benchmark database. Along with the ZenFone Max Pro M2, the upcoming ZenFone Max M2 has also been spotted on Geekbench. The ZenFone Max M2 is not expected to be launched alongside the ZenFone Max Pro M2 on December 11.
ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2, Max M2 Spotted on Geekbench
The ASUS ZB631KL listing on Geekbench confirms the smartphone will run on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 AIE processor, a decent upgrade over the Snapdragon 636 chipset powering the ZenFone Max Pro M1. In the memory department, the ZB631KL variant packs 4GB of RAM. Unsurprisingly, the smartphone runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and not the latest Android 9.0 Pie. However, we certainly expect ASUS to roll out an update to Android 9.0 Pie for the ZenFone Max Pro M2 sometime next year. In terms of benchmark performance, the ZenFone Max Pro M2 managed a single-core score of 1,481 points and 5,549 points in the multi-core test.

The ASUS ZB633KL listing reveals the ZenFone Max M2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core processor under the hood, coupled with 4GB of RAM. Similar to the ZenFone Max Pro M2, the ZenFone Max M2 also runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo operating system currently. We expect both smartphones to offer a stock Android experience, just like their predecessors. As for the benchmark scores, the ZenFone Max M2 scored 1,255 points in the single-core test and 4,791 points in the multi-core test. While the ZenFone Max Pro M2 will be officially unveiled next week, ASUS is yet to reveal its plans regarding the ZenFone Max M2.
