Meizu is making a strong comeback to the Indian smartphone market. The popular Chinese smartphone company will reportedly launch its Meizu 16-Series Android smartphones in India today, December 5. Incidentally, Meizu has been posting several intriguing messages on social media platforms. The posts only confirm the date, but do not mention what the company will be offering to the Indian smartphone buyers. However, the images in the post do offer some hints about the Meizu smartphones that will be launching in India today.
We recently reported about Chinese smartphone vendor Meizu returning to India with three new smartphones this year. Meizu may not be common smartphone brand for the recent smartphone buyers. However, the company had a respectable presence in the Indian smartphone market. This was before other Chinese companies like Xiaomi, Vivo, Oppo, Huawei, OnePlus, and many others, entered the Indian market, and began launching aggressively priced Android smartphone. Perhaps realizing that the Indian smartphone market is growing very actively and exponentially, Meizu must have decided to reenter the arena, presumably with its Meizu 16-Series smartphones.
Meizu Smartphone Launch Time, Live Streaming Details
The last big launch was the Meizu Pro 7 in April this year. However, the company now seems to be ready for a strong comeback with a solid portfolio of new products. Consistent reports indicated Meizu was keenly interested in the Indian market, and recently, the company confirmed the same.
Meizu has confirmed that it would offer a Live Stream of the launch event on Twitter and Facebook, which is scheduled to take place at 12PM IST. Moreover, the live streaming will be available on YouTube as well as Facebook. However, the company hasn’t setup the same. We will surely update our readers as soon as Meizu offers a Live Stream of the India launch event.
Meizu Launch Meizu M16-TH Smartphone Today?
Meizu is reportedly introducing a handset, codenamed Meizu M16-TH. The smartphone could challenge the recently launched OnePlus 6T. In addition to the device, Meizu could also launch two more Android smartphones. These Android handsets could challenge budget-focused smartphones from Xiaomi, Honor, Nokia, and others.
The Meizu M16-TH is merely a codename. According to recent leaks, the smartphone would feature a 6-inch Full HD screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner, Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, 6GB RAM, dual 20MP + 12MP rear camera setup, a 20MP front-facing camera, and a 3010mAh battery. These specifications, however, are still speculative.

Interestingly, Meizu does embed vivid and sharp Super AMOLED displays in its premium smartphones. Also, the images embedded in the Tweets indicate the device being launched today in India, may not have the notch-display, and slim bezels at the sides. The smartphone does appear to have slight chin at the bottom.
Smartphone enthusiasts claim Meizu will launch the Meizu 16 smartphone today. The premium Android smartphone features a 6-inch Super AMOLED display. It has a screen-to-body ratio of above 90 percent, and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The Meizu 16 packs the powerful octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, and ships with different RAM and memory configurations. The dual rear camera combination includes 12MP IMX380 + 12MP IMX350 sensors with 1.55um large pixels, HDR, OIS and AI.
One of the other two devices could either be the budget offering like the Meizu 16X or Meizu 16 Pro and the other could be the Meizu 16 Plus. While the former has the Snapdragon 710 SoC and an Adreno 616 GPU, the latter has a larger 6.5-inch display and a bigger 3,570mAh battery.
