Motorola Moto G8 with 48MP Triple Camera Setup Leaked in an Official-looking Promo Video

It’s not been too long since Motorola announced the launch of the Moto G8 Plus in India. The company had also launched the Moto G8 Play in several other markets, starting with Brazil. And if we are to believe fresh reports, the company is on the verge of launching yet another Moto G8 series handset soon. According to serial leakster Evan Blass, Motorola is almost ready to launch the Moto G8 soon. There is a good chance that this handset would make it to India as well. He also posted a video of the phone in which its design and some of the camera specs are visible. The video, by the looks of it, looks like a promo video made for the Moto G8 by Motorola themselves.

Moto G8: What we know so far

As expected, the Moto G8 will be positioned below the Moto G8 Plus and will be priced under the INR 13,999 mark if it ever makes it to India. From the video, it is evident that the phone will be offered in three color options; blue, red, and black. The display size isn’t clear from the video, but it is almost certain that it would be smaller in size than the 6.3-inch IPS LCD panel used on the G8 Plus. The display does get a prominent notch at the top for the front-facing camera. At the rear, the Moto G8 gets a triple camera setup with the primary camera using a 48-megapixel sensor. The resolution of the other two cameras remains a mystery. It is likely that one of these cameras would feature an ultra-wide-angle lens, and the other camera would function as a depth sensor.

Moto G8: Expected hardware specifications

There is no clarity yet on the hardware spec sheet of the Moto G8. What is certain, however, is that it would be positioned below the Moto G8 Plus, which totes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. This could mean that the G8 could get an older SD 6 series chipset or a newer SD 4 series chipset. The phone will also feature a smaller battery than the 4,000mAh unit in the G8 Plus. It is expected to retain the Turbocharging feature. As always, it is advisable that we wait a few more days until more details of the Moto G8 is revealed by Motorola themselves.
