OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and Bullets Z Wireless India Prices Announced, Here’s Where You Can Buy Online

OnePlus has announced the India pricing for its newly-launched OnePlus 8 series devices. The price announcement comes just five days after the OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro were officially launched in a live-streamed event. Following the international launch of the OnePlus 8 series, Indian fans were concerned about a steep hike in the prices of the devices. The OnePlus 8 had a starting international price of USD 699 for the base variant — which translated to around Rs 53,400 in India. In contrast, the base variant of the OnePlus 8 Pro was priced at USD 899 (Rs 68,000), which falls in proper flagship territory. The hiked international prices of the OnePlus 8 series also led to concerns about OnePlus finally losing the ‘Flagship Killer’ tag.

OnePlus themselves, however, stopped short of announcing the official India prices for the devices — and they might have had a good reason to do so. Just one day after the OnePlus 8 was announced, Apple launched its new affordable smartphone — the Apple iPhone SE, which carried an international price tag of $399 (Rs 30,000) for the base variant. However, Apple announced that the same phone would be sold for Rs 42,500 in India — taking into account import duty and other taxes. However, many people still thought an iPhone with the latest processor was still a better deal than the OnePlus 8 series, which they thought would be priced above the iPhone SE.

OnePlus, obviously had other plans.

Not only is the Indian pricing of the OnePlus 8 series significantly lower than what it shall Be sold in other markets, the base variant of the phone also undercuts the iPhone SE (2020) by a slim margin of Rs 501.

Here is the official price list for all the variants of the OnePlus 8 series that would be sold in India.

OnePlus 8

  • 6GB + 128GB: Rs 41,999
  • 8GB + 128GB: Rs 44,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: Rs 49,999

OnePlus 8 Pro

  • 8GB + 128GB: Rs 54,999
  • 12GB + 256GB: Rs 59,999

OnePlus also announced the launch of the new Bullets Z Wireless Headphones in India which has a price tag of Rs 1,999.

Not only does the pricing of the OnePlus threaten the popularity of the iPhone SE and other ‘affordable flagships’ like the iQOO 3 at the lower end of the price spectrum, at the higher end, the OnePlus 8 Pro model will prove to be a major headache for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series — which mind you — comes with the not so popular” Exynos chipset in India. OnePlus is yet to announce an official sale date for these devices in India due to the ongoing pan-India lockdown. The devices will be on sale via Amazon as well as OnePlus’ own stores.
