ASUS ROG Gaming Phone 4GB, 6GB RAM Variants With Dual Rear Cameras Spotted on TENAA Website

Asus entered the segment for manufacturing gaming centred phones, with their quite mighty Asus ROG (Republic of Gamers) phone. The ASUS ROG (Z01QD), although it’s yet to be launched, there are already many taking boldly about the device and its potential to perform the hard way.

This is the first time that ASUS is manufacturing a device with gaming and high-performance in mind. However, the most significant factor that has not gon unnoticed with the ASUS ROG is its price. The Taiwanese brand has decided to place a €1,000 price tag on the device, which might seem excessive in some quarters, although they could yet justify considering what’s packed within the gaming phone.

ASUS ROG Phone: 4GB, 6BG RAM Variant on TENAA

However, in recent few days, and before the potential release of The ASUS ROG, TENNA, the Chinese certification agency has listed three variants of the gaming phone. This could mean a cheaper alternative for the 1000 ASUS ROG. TENAA states that there are three variants distinguished by RAM capacity. With the ASUS ROG’s primary model was reported to have 8GB of RAM, the other two variants are to have 4GB and 6GB respectively. This suggests that ASUS has not turned a blind eye towards the high price tag their flagship device has, and thus are working on cheaper alternatives, that could yet stick with the purpose, that is gaming.

Barring the RAM capacity the two cheaper models are likely to have minimal changes, like a slightly reduced battery capacity and possibly a camera downgrade from a dual (12MP+8MP) the ASUS ROG 8GB model has to possibly only having a single 12MP camera at the back. Other than that there does not seem to be much difference, as it feels like ASUS wants to keep the core of the idea alive by providing the best possible performance in the phones, especially for gaming.

ASUS ROG Phone: Specifications, Features

One would naturally expect a gaming phone to have high-end specifications to it, for a smooth experience without any lags or drops while users game their way through, and ASUS has not disappointed.

The ASUS ROG phone (All models) come with a 6.00-inch touchscreen display with a 1080×2160 pixels resolution. Its powered by a 2.96GHz octa-core processor with 8GB RAM. The cheaper variants will have 6GB and 4GB of RAM respectively.
The conflicting part about the specs for the ASUS ROG Phone lies with the camera. Although TENAA has reported a single, 12MP rear camera, the accompanying photos of the ASUS ROG Phone clearly show a dual-camera on the device. That said it is understood that the ASUS ROG phone has a 12MP+8MP rear cameras, while the front, selfie shooter is an 8MP lens.

The battery for the original variant of the ASUS ROG phone is listed to be of 4000mAh capacity, although the cheaper variants are to have a 3850mAh capacity battery. The ASUS ROG phone is available in capacities of 128GB to 512GB, something the buyer can choose from.

Other features include Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth. Sensors like Compass/Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope are all included in the ASUS ROG phone.

ASUS could well want to follow the lead of the Razer Phone and enter the gaming segment to provide its users with a unique experience with their games. The high powered ASUS ROG might be there offering to the gaming community, but it sure is priced way too high at €1,000. However, the other two, cheaper variants could swerve the gamer’s mind to buy the phones, for the cheaper versions only have a slightly reduced battery capacity and come in 4 & 6GB RAM capacity compared to the 8GB that’s present in the original model of the ASUS ROG phone. The reduced RAM and no changes in the core specifications of the ASUS ROG Phone will the buyers shave off some money from the original €1,000 price tag.
