It has been almost a year since the last YU smartphone was released. The company, an online sub-brand of Micromax, had seen some success in India, but had laid quite until recently. Its Twitter handle started posting some teasers about a new phone, and the company has now started sending out invites.
Micromax is not really in the picture right now, as other Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, etc, have taken over the budget and mid-range smartphone market in India. However, Micromax wants to make a comeback, with the all new YU ACE smartphone.
The YU ACE would technically be the successor to the Yureka 2, which was released in September last year. We can expect the phone to have 2018 hardware, dual-cameras and a large battery, going by the teasers.

The company hasn’t really revealed any details about the new smartphone. And since no one has been talking about Micromax, there haven’t been any leaks or rumors either. The only thing we have going for us, are the teasers that YU has been posting on its Twitter, which pretty much confirm a few things about the phone.
We know that the phone will be called ACE, as the teasers contain the Ace of Spades, and the words FACE OFF with ACE in brackets. Apart from that, we also know that it will come with a large battery, probably upwards of 4000mAh. Another teaser, that showed two boxing gloves, could mean that the phone would have a powerful processor. We expect the phone to come with Snapdragon 600 series chipset, as this will definitely be a mid-range smartphone.

Finally, the latest teaser from the company revealed the design of the phone, and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone is shown in blue color, and it looks like it could feature dual-rear cameras. The previous phone, Yureka 2, had a single camera. It also appears to be have a metal construction. Apart from that, all is speculation right now. We expect it to be available with at least 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 6-inch Full HD+ display, tall aspect ratio, and Android 8.1 Oreo OS.
Micromax Yu ACE: Price in India
The YU ACE could be priced somewhere around the Rs. 15,000 mark. Last year, the Yureka 2 was priced at Rs. 11,999, but with newer hardware, improved cameras, new display, and bigger battery, the price for a new phone will obviously be a little higher. We will know for sure tomorrow though.
We expect the phone to be available for purchase online in the first week of September. It should come in various color options, one of which is definitely blue. Micromax will have to price the phone well though, as there is a lot of competition in the market right now. It will certainly be tough for the company to win the hearts of the consumers.
