
Samsung has announced its latest smartphone in India, dubbed Galaxy Watch. The company unveiled the device alongside the Galaxy Note 9 at the event in India. The device is the successor to Gear S3 that came out last year. This is the first Samsung smartwatch that comes with the Galaxy branding.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch features a Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. The smartwatch comes in two size variants- 46mm and 42mm. Both the variants come with standalone LTE connectivity. The 46mm Samsung Galaxy Watch features a 1.3-inch screen while the 42mm watch model sports a 1.2-inches screen. The smartwatch with bigger screen size is backed by a 473mAh battery and the one with 42mm size is fuelled by a 270mAh battery that offers a battery life of up to 45 hours. You can charge the wearable by simply putting down on the wireless charging dock. As mentioned on the Samsung website, “A fully charged Galaxy Watch lasts up to 168 hours for 46mm models and 120 hours for 42mm models. Actual battery life varies by features and apps used, the number of times charged, and many other factors”.
The connectivity options that tag along with the device include Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi b/g/n, NFC, and A-GPS / GLONASS. The list of the sensors onboard includes an accelerometer, an ambient light sensor gyro, barometer, and HRM.

Furthermore, the smartwatch comes with support for Bixby and pre-loaded Samsung apps like Samsung Health, Samsung Flow, and Samsung Knox. In the fitness tracking department, you can measure your heart rate and track 6 additional activities while exercising. You can also get your daily briefing based on your sleep patterns displayed before you doze off, including health data and other daily reminders. There is a My Day watchface feature that displays your schedules for the next 10 hours. The watch also comes equipped with GPS and built-in altimeter. The Home IoT function on the watch lets you connect to other appliances like TV, AC, and more. You can use a personalized set of commands to carry out multiple actions at the same time.

Samsung hasn’t released any statement on the pricing and availability details of the Galaxy Watch the Indian friends. For now, we know that the Samsung Galaxy watch will be available in three color variants- Rose Gold, Silver, and Midnight Black color variants.
Samsung has been on a roll with its offerings in India lately. In one more news, the company is reportedly releasing the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star at Rs. 34,990. The device was already released in China a few months ago, dubbed the moniker Galaxy A9 Star. The launch of the device was confirmed after a teaser poster went live on Amazon.
