Xiaomi Mi Max 3 Deep Blue Sea Color Variant Will Go on Sale From August 24; Preorders Live Now

The Xiaomi Mi Max 3, successor to the Mi Max 2, was launched in China in July this year. It went on sale later that month in two color options; Black Stone, and Dream Gold. A third color option was announced during the launch of the phone, but it wasn’t available for purchase, until now.

The third color variant of the Mi Max3, is called Deep Blue Sea, and it is a nice bold color. If you have been waiting to get your hands on this color, you can now pre-order it in China. The new color variant will also be available for direct purchase in the country, starting August 24.

In India, Xiaomi is yet to announce the Mi Max 3, and a lot of users are waiting for this phone. Right now, there aren’t many big screen smartphones available in India. We are not sure when exactly the phone will be launched in India, but it should happen in the next few weeks. The phone is supposedly going to launch in Hong Kong on the 23rd of August, so there are chances that India could be next.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3: Deep Blue Sea Color, Price in China

The new Deep Blue Sea color for the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 is only a design improvement. There are no new hardware features such as extra RAM or storage. You get the same configurations as the standard models, and the pricing is also the same.

The variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage will cost you CNY 1699, and the 6GB RAM/128GB variant will cost you CNY 1999. This variant will be available for purchase on August 24th via JD Mall and the official Mi Online Store.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3: Specifications, Features

As mentioned earlier, the Mi Max 3 is a phablet smartphone. This is because, it has a huge 6.9-inch display, and that is huge even for today’s standards. Only a few smartphones exist with displays as big as this, or bigger. In comparison, the recently launched Galaxy Note 9 has a 6.4-inch display.

The 6.9-inch display on the Mi Max 3 has a Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. The bezels on the side are slim, but it’s still got top and bottom bezels, which makes this phone a giant. Internally, the phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 636 processor and the Adreno 509 GPU, which is not the latest in the series. The processor is coupled with up to 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is available as well.

As for the cameras, you get a dual-camera setup at the back, which has a main 12MP sensor paired with a 5MP depth sensor. The 12MP sensor has an f/1.9 aperture, can record 4K videos at 30fps, and super slow motion videos at 120fps. At the front, there is an 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture for selfies. Software aided features help the cameras take good photos when there is enough light.

Despite the big size, the Mi Max 3 is a mid-range smartphone, catering to people who like big displays and batteries. Speaking of batteries, this phone comes with a massive 5,500mAh battery, which does support 18W fast charging. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back, and there is a USB Type-C port at the bottom, along with a headphone jack.

Other features include, GPS, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 5.0. The phone uses an aluminium unibody construction with glass in the front.

What do you think of the new Deep Blue Sea color? Will you be buying one?
