Asus Updates ZenBook 2018 Lineup with 95% Screen-to-Body Ratio and 8th gen Intel Core Processors at IFA 2018

Asus has now showcased its updated ZenBook lineup of ultrabooks at IFA Berlin 2018. The all-new ZenBooks from the Taiwanese OEM come with marked improvements over its predecessors. The ultrabooks are lighter than before and come with remarkably thin bezels. Apparently, the 2018 line of Asus ZenBooks boasts a remarkable 95% screen to body ratio, which makes it’s even better than the high-end Apple MacBook Pros.

The Asus ZenBook now comes in three display variants, 13-inch, 14-inch, and 15-inch. Among them, only the Asus ZenBook 15 comes with an upgradable UHD panel. On the other hand, the rest of the two ultrabooks, namely Asus ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14 come with a Full HD IPS display. Apparently, the display is the main talking of all three new ZenBooks. From the first glance itself, it’s evident that Asus has ditched the matte black polycarbonate protected display in favor of an all-glass panel. The thick bezels of the last year’s ZenBook too, are nowhere to be seen.

Asus ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14 and ZenBook 15: Features, Specifications

Asus has made an interesting design move to hide the bottom bezel under the keyboard, all thanks to its innovative hinge design. This makes the front of the all-new ZenBooks appear nearly bezel-less, thereby creating an impressive viewing experience for its users.

Evidently, the lack of bezels has had a marked positive effect on the footprint of the laptops. Incidentally, the all-new Asus ZenBook 14 has a smaller footprint than that of the last year’s 13 inch ZenBook, and that by a pretty large margin. Therefore, there’s no doubt in the fact, that the new ZenBooks are ultra-portable and suits the needs of an always on the move professional.

Just like every other year, Asus has also upgraded the internals of the new ZenBooks. The ultrabooks now come with an Intel 8th generation Core Processors, with the top end model boasting of a Core i7 chip. Apart from that the top specced variant of the Asus ZenBook 15 features a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Max-Q graphics, 16GB RAM and PCIe storage. Besides, the new ultrabooks have all the ports that are seen in its predecessor, except for a USB-A port and surprisingly an SD card reader.

Another noteworthy addition to the new ZenBook is its keyboard. The keys are no longer plastic looking and now come with a metallic coating. The trackpad too comes with an optional number pad feature that’s present only on the ZenBook 13 and ZenBook 14. Basically, the trackpad in these ultrabooks can be used both for navigating the Windows interface as well as typing in numbers.

Asus ZenBook 13, ZenBook 14 and ZenBook 15: Price, Availability

Asus has priced its all-new ZenBook line up pretty competitively. The cheapest of the lot is priced at $899 and comes with a paltry 4GB RAM. That said, the Asus ZenBooks are directly competing with the new Dell Inspiron 7000 line in terms of price.
