OnePlus 6 Receives Stable OxygenOS 9.0 Update Based on Android 9 Pie With Multiple Changes, Improvements

OnePlus 6 has finally started to receive the stable update for the latest Android Pie 9.0. The latest Android 9 based OxygenOS 9.0 is available for download via OTA. The update will need a total space of 1.5GB. Let’s take a look at what’s new with the update.

One Plus 6 Stable OxygenOS 9.0: Official Changelog

OnePlus had been testing new technologies and innovations under its OxygenOS Open Beta Program like a renewed UI, Android 9.0 based navigation gestures, and security patches for this month. As per the official changelog, the system gets updated to Android Pie 9.0 and comes with a new UI for Android Pie. The new update brings Support Adaptive Battery mode with it along with the new Android Pie navigation gestures.

The other new features and system improvements that come along with the update include a new Do Not Disturb (DND) mode with adjustable settings and a new Gaming mode 3.0. The latest update also comes with a “text notification” mode and notifications for third-party calls. Furthermore, it brings support for accent color customization.

One Plus 6: Specifications, Features

The OnePlus 6 features an Optic AMOLED display with 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution, an aspect ratio of 19:9 with a notch on top. Covering the DCI-P3 color space, the smartphone is protected by a layer of 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The device allows you to switch between five different display modes – sRGB, DCI-P3, Default, Adaptive Mode, and Custom Color mode. The display on OnePlus also features a Night Mode as well to protect your eyes.

Under the hood, the company’s flagship device of the year is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 AIE 10nm octa-core processor clocked at 2.8 GHz, combined with an Adreno 630 GPU. The smartphone is available in three memory configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB onboard storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage. It does not come with a microSD slot for further memory expansion.

In the imaging department, OnePlus 6 sports a dual rear cameras at the back comprising of a 16MP Sony IMX519 primary sensor and a 20MP secondary IMX376K sensor. The primary sensor features phase-detection autofocus, optical image stabilization, electronic image stabilization, and pixel size of a 1.22um. It is coupled with a lens of f/1.7 aperture. Some of the camera highlights include a Portrait Mode, HDR, and RAW Image capture support, and a Pro Mode. On the front, the OnePlus 6 houses a 16MP Sony IMX371 sensor that also comes with features like EIS, Portrait Mode, HDR, Face Beauty, Screen Flash, and is coupled with f/2.0 aperture lens.

Fuelling the device is a 3300mAh capacity battery that comes with the company’s signature Dash Charge fast charging technology. You get two options to unlock the smartphone- a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock. Other notable features of the flagship smartphone include Dirac HD Sound, Dirac Power Sound and it is water resistant. The connectivity options that tag along with it include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, NFC, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, USB Type-C, and Dual 4G VoLTE.

OnePlus 6: Price in India

The base variant of the OnePlus 6 with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage is priced at Rs.34,999. Then, there is a 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant, which comes with a price tag of Rs.39,999.If your storage requirements are even higher, OnePlus also offers an 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model of the device, which is priced at Rs.43,999. The device comes in multiple color options- Mirror Black, Red, Midnight Black, and Silk White. The smartphone is available online at the OnePlus store and Amazon. You can also get it from OnePlus Experience stores and other offline retailers across India.
