Samsung recently announced the Galaxy J6 Plus and the Galaxy J4 Plus in India. The mid-range smartphones from the popular J-series go on sale today. The smartphones will be competing with the latest mid-tier and even budget offerings from Xiaomi, Oppo, and Vivo. The Realme 2 Pro will also be launched in a couple of days, which would be a major competition for the latest J-series devices.
Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus, Galaxy J4 Plus Go on Sale Starting Today
Both the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus and the Galaxy J4 plus will be available on Flipkart and Amazon. Available in Black, Blue, and Red, the Galaxy J6 Plus will sell for Rs. 15,990. The Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus, on the other hand, will cost Rs. 10,990. The smartphone will be available in three color variants- Black, Blue, and Gold. As part of the launch offer, Samsung is offering one-time screen replacement at just Rs. 990. The offer expires on November 11.

Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus: Specifications, Features
The Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus features a large 6-inch Infinity Display with 1480 x 720 resolution in an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an entry-level Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor, clocked at 1.4GHz. For handling the graphics, there is Adreno 308. All of this is paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard storage. You also get the option to expand the memory even further via a microSD card.
In the imaging department, the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus boasts a dual-camera set up at the back comprising a 13MP primary sensor paired with a 5MP depth-sensing camera. The front of the device houses an 8MP sensor, coupled with a f/1.9 aperture. The device is expected to perform decently in poor-lighting conditions.
On the connectivity front, the options that along with the Samsung Galaxy J6 Plus include 4G VoLTE, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, GPS, GLONASS, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Furthermore, the device is fuelled by a 3300mAh battery, which is decent enough for smartphones in its price segment. The device comes with a fingerprint sensor, but instead of making it appear on the back or front, Samsung has placed it on the side panel of the smartphone. As for software, the device runs on the Android 8.1 (Oreo). In terms of dimensions, the Galaxy J6 Plus measures 161.4 x 76.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs in at 178 grams.
Samsung Galaxy J4 Plus: Specifications, Features
The less powerful J-series variant, Galaxy J4 Plus comes with a 6-inch HD+ display with 1480 x 720 resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by a Snapdragon 425 processor, paired with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 308 GPU. The device comes with an onboard storage of 32GB, which can further be expanded using a microSD card.
Moving on to the optics, there is a single 13MP rear camera unit, paired with f/1.9 aperture and a 5MP camera on the front, paired with f/2.2 aperture. Keeping the device on is a 3300mAh battery, same as on the Galaxy J6 Plus. As for software, the Galaxy J4 Plus gets Android 8.1 (Oreo).
The Galaxy J4 Plus features all the standard connectivity options including 4G VoLTE, single-band Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, GLONASS, NFC, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. As mentioned earlier, the smartphone is available in Black, Gold, Gold color variants. Dimension-wise, the device measures 161.4 x 76.9 x 7.9 mm and weighs in at 178 grams. In terms of specifications, the Galaxy J4 Plus is almost similar to the Galaxy J6 Plus. The only major difference between the two is the camera specifications.
