Huawei has always ensured that it emphasizes artificial intelligence when it comes to highlighting the software features of its devices. Honor, a smartphone brand under the Huawei Group, showcased these AI capabilities at India Mobile Congress 2018.
Honor spokesperson, Mr. P Sanjeev, at IMC showcased the Kirin 980 SoC and the latest Honor 8X that form an ‘AI Life’ theme. It aimed to show the ability of artificial intelligence to offer seamless solutions to consumers when it comes to health and the smart home.
Honor actively participated in the panel discussion under the theme “Gadgets of Tomorrow – Connected Intelligence” to share how the company is helping bring artificial intelligence to the consumer but also making it accessible and easy to use. Honor’s efforts in the AI space are contained under the program of “AI Life” and used the conference to showcase the technology that enables this such as the Kirin 980 SoC chipset. Additional showcases saw the Honor 10 that pioneered AI technology paired with smartphone camera imaging to bring the next-level of processing to consumers hands as well as the Honor 9N and Honor Play.
It’s safe to say Honor is at the forefront of bringing AI capabilities to its devices and Mr. P Sanjeev, Vice President Sales, Huawei India-Consumer Business Group, during the panel discussion said,” Gadgets of tomorrow is around AI, and for us, AI is at the core of our strategy – from your personal devices to smart homes and mobile offices. AI gadgets will wake up with you, it will track your day activities and even monitor your sleep. Often, we tend to believe that we are healthy on the basis of our own assumptions without any certified backing. This is a major health hazard. But with the kind of technology which we have developed, it is possible to monitor your regular health parameters – whether your day was stressful, or you have taken proper rest, blood pressure levels, heart rate and more. This is just the tip of the iceberg; there are far better innovations which are on the offing in the near future. Your doctor may take time to know how your body reacts to different medicines, but AI will tell you everything in a short span of time.”
Not finished at showing off its AI efforts, Huawei Consumer Business took the opportunity to announce the company aims to strengthen its premium portfolio in India with the launch of the Huawei Mate 20 series next month.
With the innovation Honor is driving in the AI space paired with the diversity in products Huawei are bringing to market, it is no surprise that Honor has emerged as one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in India as per the IDC Q2 2018 report. The brand has seen an impressive 281% growth in H1 of 2018 and is among top 2 brands in the online segment in Q2, 2018.
It’s certainly interesting to see how Honor and Huawei can shake up the Indian market with its upcoming product launches with its AI capabilities.
