Huawei’s latest flagship Android flagship smartphone, the Mate 20 Pro is all set to go on sale in India for the first time today on Amazon.in. However, only Amazon Prime members will be able to purchase the smartphone today as part of a Prime Early Deal. Everyone else will need to wait until tomorrow, i.e. December 04 to get their hands on Huawei’s latest flagship smartphone. The Mate 20 Pro was launched in India last week as an Amazon-exclusive. It made its global debut at a launch event held in London in October.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro Launch Offers
The Huawei Mate 20 Pro has been priced at INR 69,990 in India. However, you can purchase the smartphone along with a Sennheiser PXC550 wireless headphones for just INR 71,990 as part of a bundle offer. If you decide to purchase the PXC550 individually, you would have to shell out INR 29,990. Apart from the bundle offer, Amazon.in is running other promotions as well. Customers holding IndusInd and RBL bank cards can avail an instant discount of 10% on the smartphone. The maximum discount per card has been capped at INR 7,000. This means you can get the Mate 20 Pro for just INR 62,991 after availing the instant discount offer. Idea Vodafone postpaid customers who purchase the Mate 20 Pro can avail 20% rental discount for 12 bill cycles on Red/Nirvana Plus rental plans priced at INR 499 or higher. Amazon.in is also offering No Cost EMI option on all major credit cards as well as Bajaj Finserv EMI cards.
Should You Buy the Huawei Mate 20 Pro?
At INR 69,990, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro is priced slightly lower than some other recent flagship smartphones such as the Google Pixel 3 XL (review). It is even more affordable than Apple’s “affordable” iPhone XR. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 6GB RAM variant, however, is priced slightly lower than the Huawei flagship smartphone. However, there are a few areas where the Mate 20 Pro scores over the Galaxy Note 9 (review). It sports a more impressive 40MP + 24MP + 8MP triple-camera setup at the rear with a wide range of AI-assisted features. You even get a specialized underwater mode and AI Cinema mode to shoot cinematic footage. The 24MP single selfie camera is also more impressive than the 8MP AF snapper found on the Galaxy Note 9.
When it comes to display size and resolution, both the Mate 20 Pro and Galaxy Note 9 are very similar to each other. However, the Mate 20 Pro offers an in-display fingerprint sensor. In addition to an in-display fingerprint sensor, the Mate 20 Pro comes with 3D Face Unlock as well. In comparison, the Galaxy Note 9 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and an iris sensor. In the battery life department as well, the Mate 20 Pro has an edge over the Galaxy Note 9. It sports a larger 4200mAh capacity battery with 40W fast wired charging and 15W fast wireless charging support. With the reverse wireless charging feature on the Mate 20 Pro, you can use the Mate 20 Pro as a power bank to charge other devices wirelessly. On the software front, Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro runs on the latest Android 9 Pie-based EMUI 9.0 out of the box, while the Galaxy Note 9 currently runs Android 8.1 Oreo-based Samsung Experience 9.5.
