Clearer Image of Xiaomi Redmi K20 Surfaces, Showcases Flame Red Color and Triple-Camera Setup

Xiaomi started teasing its upcoming Redmi branded flagship smartphone, the Redmi K20, a few days ago. Xiaomi India head Manu Kumar Jain tweeted an image of the phone, which showed us a glimpse of the phone’s design. The phone is expected to be launched in India very soon. Now, we have a clearer image that displays the phone’s rear and its cameras.

As you can see in the image, the Redmi K20 will be launched in Flame Red color, and it looks pretty attractive, thanks to its glass back and a glare-like pattern that has multiple shades of red. ‘Redmi’ and ‘Designed By Xiaomi’ tags are also visible on the bottom part of the phone’s rear. There’s a vertically placed triple-camera setup, which also consists of a dual-LED flash. There are power and volume buttons on the right side of the phone (when viewed from the front).

It is being reported that there will be two phones in the Redmi K20 series: Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro. Both phones could have the same design, with the K20 Pro using the Snapdragon 855 chipset and the K20 Pro using the Snapdragon 710 chipset.

According to most reports, the Redmi K20 and the K20 Pro will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution (2340×1080 pixels) and no notch, and that’s because it will have a motorized pop-up selfie camera mechanism, similar to the Realme X and the Vivo NEX. They’ll also have the DC Dimming feature for less flicker during low brightness setting.

It is also being reported that the Redmi K20 series will run Android 9.0 (Pie)-based software. The K20 Pro will also feature up to 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. There will also be three other memory configurations of the phone: 6GB RAM+64GB storage, 6GB RAM+128GB storage, and 8GB RAM+128GB storage. Unfortunately, there won’t be a microSD card slot for further storage expansion. The phone will also reportedly come with the Game Turbo 2.0 feature for performance optimization and being able to reply to messages without any problem.

In the imaging department, the Redmi K20 Pro will have a 48MP primary camera sensor (1/2-inch) on the rear, which is joined by a 13MP camera sensor (F2.4) with an ultra-wide lens and an 8MP camera sensor (F2.4) with a telephoto lens. It will be able to capture 4K videos at 60fps and 960fps slow-motion videos. The pop-up selfie camera unit will use a 20MP sensor. We are not sure whether the Redmi K20 will feature the same sensors.

The phones will use a seventh-generation optical fingerprint reader that’s placed underneath the AMOLED screen, similar to many other high-end and mid-range phones. The Redmi K20’s screen will be protected by Corning’s Gorilla Glass 6 panel. The phone will feature a dual-SIM card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi b/g/n/ac, Wi-Fi Direct, NFC, IR port, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Redmi K20 will be powered by a 4000mAh battery, similar to Redmi 7 series and Redmi Note 7 series phones as well as the POCO F1. It will also be compatible with Quick Charge 4+ fast charging technology.
