HMD Global has unveiled a new Nokia Android Go smartphone dubbed the Nokia C1. The device is intended for emerging markets and is currently being sold in countries like Kenya. The device will soon be available in Nigeria and some other countries too, but the details about that are scarce as of now. Let’s have a look at the price of the budget-centric Nokia C1 and its specifications.
Nokia C1: Price
In Kenya, the Nokia C1 is priced at KES 6,000 which roughly translates to somewhere around USD 60. As of now, we don’t know as to what the price of the device in the other countries will be.
Nokia C1: Specifications and Features

As it is a budget device, we should not be expecting too much from it. Nevertheless, the Nokia C1 features a 5.45-inch IPS display with a 480 x 960 pixels resolution. The display of the device is guarded by a toughened glass which will prevent it from getting scratches. There is a decent amount of bezels at the top and at the bottom of the device (as seen in the images) and the forehead of the Nokia C1 makes room for the Nokia branding, the earpiece, and a front LED flash. By using an LED flash at the front. Nokia has tried to provide a cost-effective way of taking low-light selfies.

Speaking of selfies, the Nokia C1 features a 5MP selfie camera. The rear camera tells pretty much the same story as we get a 5MP shooter at the back as well. The rear camera also comes with an LED flash that sits right underneath it.
The Nokia C1 comes with a 1.3GHz quad-core chipset in the helm (unnamed, but it could most likely be a MediaTek SoC). It comes with 1GB of RAM which is something that is pretty common when it comes to Android Go smartphones. The internal storage is 16GB which can further be expanded by up to 64GB with the help of an external SD card.
A 2,500mAh battery keeps the lights of the device on. The device comes with a standard micro USB 2.0 slot which, once again, is not too surprising considering the price point it is being offered at. Plus, we get a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
It is worth noting that the Nokia C1 does not support LTE and it works on 3G networks at the very best. It supports Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) only. That said, since most of the Android Go apps are optimized to consume as few data as possible, the device should get the job done.
