Mobile World Congress, or MWC as we know it, is right around the corner, and almost every smartphone manufacturer has started preparing for it. Just like every year, the Mobile World Congress 2020 will also happen in Barcelona, beginning from February 24 and continuing till February 27. As it turns out, Vivo might be having something exciting in store for us as the company has started sending out media invites already. Let’s have a look at what Vivo might unveil on February 23, the day on which the company has scheduled the event.
Vivo to launch a new device on February 23 during the MWC, could be a foldable smartphone
As seen in the invite, the Vivo event is set for February 23, 2020, at 17:00 CET. The event will take place at the Nautic Center, Barcelona. Other than the venue details, the poster does not reveal any specifics of the device. The only clue that we can gather from it is the big “V” that mixes up with the background of the poster. Though not guaranteed, the V could probably be pointing out at a foldable smartphone by Vivo. Or, it could simply be pointing out at the next Vivo V series of smartphones. Just in case you don’t remember, Vivo recently unveiled the Vivo V17 smartphone and could very well be working on its successor. If at all this theory holds, the device that launches on the said date could very well be dubbed Vivo V19, as the company does not do even numbers in their series of smartphones.
This theory gets solidified even further when we pay closer attention to Vivo’s launch habits. The company usually launches one Vivo V series smartphone at the beginning of the year and then another one somewhere when the year is about to end. All of this, however, is all a set of assumptions for now, and we can only hope that Vivo will come up with more promotional posters for the device soon for us. Meanwhile, Vivo is not the only company that is going to unveil new products during the MWC 2020.
