Samsung is working towards the launch of the Galaxy A22 5G smartphone. The device is also supposed to launch in the 4G version as well. The 4G model was spotted on BIS certification and HTML5 test recently. Additionally, yesterday, we even saw the renders of the Galaxy A22 5G that showcased us that the device will feature a triple-camera setup and a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display. Now, ahead of launch, the Galaxy A22 5G model is spotted in the Geekbench database. The benchmark listing confirms the possible hardware specifications that the Galaxy A22 5G will offer:

If we go by the preliminary Geekbench result, we can see that the Galaxy A22 5G will pack an octa-core MediaTek’s Dimensity 700 (MT6833V) SoC. The device will ship with 6GB of RAM. On the software side of things, the smartphone will run Android 11 out of the box with OneUI 3.1 skin. The HTML5 result even had confirmed the same Android version earlier for the A22 5G. The Galaxy A22 smartphone that is spotted in the Geekbench database carries model number as SM-A226B. This variant is supposed to be a Galaxy A22 5G model, as the A22 4G variant is in the work with model number as SM-A225F.
The Galaxy A22 5G has managed to pull off 562 and 1765 points in the single-core and multi-core test respectively at Geekbench. If we go by the previous leak, the Galaxy A22 is considered to sport a 6.5-inch Infinity-V display. The phone is supposed to come with a plastic back panel. In terms of optics, the Galaxy A22 will sport a triple-camera setup. Earlier rumours suggest us that the device might feature a 48-megapixel primary main camera.
The Galaxy A22 will succeed the Galaxy A21. This upcoming smartphone is supposed to be Samsung’s cheapest 5G handset that might be priced at around KRW 200,000 (Rs 13,425). The past report reveals that this handset will launch in Southeast Asia, Europe, South Korea, and the Indian market. The phone is supposed to be available in four colour options that include – Gray, White, Light Green, and Violet colour option. It is said that the A22 will launch in two storage options.
As of now, we still don’t have any details regarding the launch date of the A22 smartphone. Now, that the device has started appearing on certifications and benchmark listing, we can see its launch happening soon in the upcoming few weeks.
