Xiaomi, which happens to be one of the fastest growing smartphone brands in the world, recently started rolling out the MIUI 10 Global Stable update for a few of its smartphones. After rolling out the MIUI 10 Global Stable update for the Redmi Y2, Redmi Note 5 Pro, and the Mi 8, Xiaomi has started seeding the update for the Mi MIX 2S and the Mi MIX 2.
Mi MIX 2S, Mi MIX 2: MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM Now Rolling Out
The MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for the Mi MIX 2S can now be installed using a Recovery ROM that can be downloaded from here. While the update is not available via the OTA route just yet, we do expect Xiaomi to begin the OTA rollout for the Mi MIX 2S in the coming days. As with other Xiaomi smartphones that have recently received the MIUI 10 Global ROM, the update for the Mi MIX 2S is based on Android 8.1 Oreo. Unless you have some experience with flashing ROMs in the past, we would recommend waiting for the OTA update to become available instead of trying to flash the Recovery ROM. In case you decide to flash the Recovery ROM instead of waiting for the OTA update to arrive, do make sure you perform a backup before flashing.
MIUI 10 Stable ROM Officially Arrives for Xiaomi Mi 8 Smartphone Via OTA Update
The MIUI 10 Global Stable ROM for the Mi MIX 2 is arriving as version 10.0.2.0.ODEMIFH for the Mi MIX 2 (review). It brings all-new full screen gestures, an all-new UI tailored for full-screen devices, natural sound system, and revamped system apps. Similar to the Mi MIX 2S, the MIUI 10 Stable update is only available in the form of a Recovery ROM for the Mi MIX 2 currently. However, we do expect Xiaomi to begin pushing the update via the OTA route very soon.
Mi MIX 2S: Specifications, Features
The latest Mi MIX series smartphone from Xiaomi, the Mi MIX 2S was announced in March this year at an event held in Shanghai, China. It sports a 5.99-inch sized display with 1080 x 2160 Full HD+ resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Unlike the newer flagship Xiaomi smartphones, the Mi MIX 2S does not have a notch at the top. Powering the Mi MIX 2S is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset manufactured on a 10nm processor. The chipset is clocked at up to 2.8 GHz and includes an Adreno 630 GPU. When it comes to memory, the Mi MIX 2S comes in three configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The Mi MIX 2S does not include a microSD card slot, which means further expansion is not supported.
Moving on to optics, the Mi MIX 2S features a 12MP + 12MP dual-camera setup with the primary sensor featuring 4-axis optical image stabilization and Dual Pixel PDAF. Thanks to the dual-camera setup, the Mi MIX 2S can not only capture some great Portrait shots, but it also boasts 2x optical zoom. While the dual-camera setup on the back of the phone is mighty impressive, the selfie camera isn’t the most exciting. The Mi MIX 2S sports a 5MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture and 1.4um pixel size. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, NFC, USB Type-C, and 4G VoLTE. The Mi MIX 2S also comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3400mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support for fast charging. The smartphone measures 150.9 x 74.9 x 8.1mm and weighs 191 grams.

Mi MIX 2S: Expected Price in India
The Mi MIX 2S has been on sale in China for nearly six months now. While it is more or less confirmed that the Mi 8 will be launched in India soon, it now seems highly unlikely that Xiaomi will be bringing the Mi MIX 2S to the Indian market. That said, if the Mi MIX 2S does arrive in India, we expect it to be priced around the Rs.30,000 mark.
