Huawei’s new mid-ranger, Huawei Mate 20 Lite was launched today at the IFA 2018 in Berlin, Germany. The handset comes in a line-up of two other smartphones, both of which seem to be flagship class, called Huawei Mate 20 and Huawei Mate 20 Pro. The two higher-end phones will be launched in October, while the Huawei Mate 20 Lite was launched at about Rs 35,000 on September 03. The Mate 20 Lite will be available for sale on September 05, and will ship in Black, Sapphire Blue, and Platinum Red colours.
As always, Huawei offers great value for money with this new handset as well. Here are the five features that make the Huawei Mate 20 Lite a strong bet.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Dual Front Camera
We cannot talk about the Huawei Mate 20 Lite without highlighting its camera prowess. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera, which is good, but also a dual front camera, which is something more than just good. The rear dual camera has a 20MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, while the front dual camera has a 24MP primary sensor and a 2MP depth sensor, for a perfect Bokeh effect in portrait shots.

Both the primary sensors are wide-angle lenses, with the rear 20MP sensor getting a wide f/1.8 aperture and the front 24MP sensor getting f/2.0 aperture. Also, there is HDR mode and HD video recording with 1080p quality at 30 frames per second in both the front and rear cameras.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Tall Display
The Huawei Mate 20 Lite comes with an impressive 6.3-inch IPS LCD display. The tall display achieves a superb aspect ratio of 19.5:9, and the pixel count is also a good 409 PPI. The bezels are ultra-thin, and the notch at the top is neither too wide nor extremely small. There is a narrow chin at the bottom, and the fingerprint sensor goes the rear panel. Also, the handset comes in an aluminium unibody, weighing only 172 grams, and is as sleek as 7.6mm in thickness.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Speedy Chipset
The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is powered by a decently fast chipset, so you can expect neat performance from it, whether it is gaming that you like or binge-watching shows or both. The device is powered by Huawei’s Hisilicon Kirin 710 octa-core processor, which comes paired to a Male-G51 MP4 graphics processor.
Four of the Kirin chipset’s eight cores are clocked at 2.2GHz, and the other four at 1.7GHz, and the SoC comes with AI integration, so there will be improved performance as you go along using it, with the system learning to adapt to your usage patterns.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Battery
The Huawei Mate 20 Lite is a lightweight phone, and does not house a flagship chipset. The phone ships with a 3750mAh battery, which is not too big in size, but the device gets an 18W adapter for fast charging, so there should be enough power at hand always.
Huawei Mate 20 Lite: Connectivity
Most mid-range and high-end smartphones are ditching the good old 3.5mm audio jack these days, whether for aesthetics or simple lack of space. The Huawei Mate 20 Lite, however, comes with a 3.5mm audio jack, as well as a Type-C reversible USB connector. It gets NFC too, apart from the now-standard A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.2 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n/ac.
