Realme 2 Goes Out of Stock Within Seconds on Flipkart; Next Sale Date is September 11

The Realme 2 is a budget smartphone that went on sale earlier today. The phone was available exclusively on Flipkart via a flash sale. And like all flash sales, this one was over in a matter of seconds as well. The Realme 2 Diamond Red variant was sold out in mere seconds, while the Diamond Black variant went out of stock in a few minutes.

The sale started at 12PM IST and those who were lucky enough, did manage to get their hands on the Realme 2 smartphone. This is the successor to the Realme 1, which was released earlier this year. The Realme brand is an online subsidiary of Oppo. It competes with phones such as the Redmi 5A, the upcoming Redmi 6A, and several other budget smartphones that are available in India.

If you couldn’t get your hands on the Realme 2 today, then worry not. Flipkart has announced the next date for the flash sale, and you can buy one then.

The Realme 2 will once again go on sale on September 11. The criteria for the flash sale would be the same. It will start at 12PM IST, and will most likely be over a few minutes. It is better to be ready, than sorry. Make sure you are in front of the computer or your phone, and are waiting to attack the Buy Now button.

You will be able to purchase the base variant of the Realme 2, which comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB of storage, for Rs. 8,999. The 4GB/64GB variant will cost you Rs. 10,999. It will be available in two color variants; Diamond Black, and Diamond Red.

Realme 2: Specifications, Features

Oppo’s Realme 2 is a very good budget smartphone, as it comes with features that are usually found in slightly higher priced phones. You get a 6.2-inch LCD display, and even though it only has HD+ resolution, it is bright and clear. It gets a tall 19:9 aspect ratio, and also comes with a notch at the top. Yes, compared to the screen on the Realme 1 with a Full HD+ display, this is a downgrade.

It features a poly-glass and aluminium design with a diamond cut design at the back, which makes it stand out from the rest. The phone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, which is coupled with up to 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. A microSD card slot is also available, which allows the user to add more storage.

In the camera department, the phone gets two sensors at the back. There’s a primary 13MP unit, and another 2MP sensor that is used for the portrait mode. At the front, there is an 8MP camera. You get software features such as AI Beauty mode, AR stickers, Face Unlock, and more. The Face Unlock tech on the phone can recognize around 128 unique features of your face, according to Realme.

The phone features a large battery as well, which has a capacit of 4230mAh. However, it still has a microUSB port, and doesn’t support fast charging. Other connectivity features include, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS, dual 4G VoLTE, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. An oval shaped fingerprint sensor is a available at the back, and you also get a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Software wise, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Oppo’s ColorOS 5.1 UI on top. The custom OS comes with some useful AI based features such as Gaming Acceleration, Power Master, and AI shot. The phone will also be updated to Android 9.0 Pie very soon.
