Realme 2, Realme 2 Pro are Going Global With Indonesia, Vietnam Launch Scheduled in October

After a massive success in India, the Oppo sub-brand Realme is taking its devices to global markets. The company is taking the latest Realme series to Indonesia and Vietnam.

As per the landing page of the newly launched Indonesian site, the Realme 2 series will be launching on October 9. Since it mentions Realme 2 series, we are assuming the Realme 2 and the upcoming Realme 2 Pro to be launched together in the country. Additionally, the backdrop of the landing page is designed in the form of the waterdrop notch that we expect to see on the Realme 2 Pro. You can also see the front-camera piece embedded within the notch.

The company has not announced a launch date for Vietnam yet and there is no official teaser released either. However, the Realme video Ad reveals that the device is there on the site.

Realme 2 Pro: Launching in India Tomorrow

The Realme 2 Pro is ready to officially come out in India tomorrow. The smartphone has been teased enough and is practically out. But the official unveiling happens tomorrow and the fans are still excited. The Realme 2 Pro will have a 6.3-inch display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. Other than the basic variant with 6GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage, there will be an 8GB + 128GB variant as well. The smartphone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor.

In the imaging department, the Realme 2 Pro will feature a dual camera set up at the back consisting of a 13MP primary camera, paired with a 5MP depth-sensing camera unit. The cameras at the back will also be accompanied by an LED flash to take care of the low-lighting shots. The front of the device will feature an 8MP camera for selfies and video calling needs. Additionally, the cameras on the device will get several AI-powered features like portrait mode, intelligent-scene-detection, and more. Just like the Realme 2, the Realme 2 Pro will also feature a huge battery reading 4350mAh. On the software front, the Realme 2 Pro will run on Android 8.1 Oreo-based ColorOS 5.1 version out of the box.

The Realme 2 features a large 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1520 pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 19:9. The smartphone also features a notch at the top, that allows it to attain an impressive screen to body ratio.

Under the hood, the device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, paired with 3GB/4GB RAM, based on storage variant. The 3GB RAM variant comes with 32GB onboard storage and the 4GB RAM variant is paired with 64GB onboard storage. Also, you get the option to expand the memory even further by using a microSD card.

In the imaging department, the Realme 2 still packs a dual camera set up at the rear. There is a primary 13MP unit, which is paired with a 2MP depth sensor. On the front, the device houses an 8MP selfie camera The camera units get several features like AI Beauty mode, AR stickers, Face Unlock, and more. The company also claims the front camera can recognize over 128 unique facial features for its Face Unlock feature.

The device comes with a massive 4230mAh battery that keeps the power on, which is impressive with that cleverly competitive price tag. However, there is no fast charging option that tags along. On the connectivity front, the options that tag along with the device include a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, dual 4G VoLTE, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. The smartphone also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. As for software, the Realme 2 runs Android 8.1 Oreo with Oppo’s ColorOS 5.1 UI. In terms of dimensions, the device measures 156.2 x 75.6 x 8.2mm and weighs 168 grams.
