Alright, let us get the price of the phone in the offline stores across India. Well, it is the same as the online pricing. You can buy the Samsung Galaxy A8 Star, offline, for Rs. 34,999.

Why is it important that a phone is available offline? Well, a lot of customers, prefer to try out a phone before purchasing it. You can see how it feels in hand, if it’s too big or small for you, try out the camera, and more.

You will also get discounts, No Cost EMI, etc, when you purchase offline. It’s not that different from buying a phone online, but here, you get the added advantage of trying it out before-hand.

Samsung Galaxy A8 Star: Specifications, Features

Like mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A8 Star is a mid-range smartphone. It’s got a large display, a dual-rear camera setup, and a premium looking glass and metal design. It needs to have all these features, as the phone will directly compete with the likes of the OnePlus 6. Despite the fact that this is a mid-range device, and the OnePlus 6 is a flagship, both are priced similarly.

The Galaxy A8 Star comes with a 6.3-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and an 18.5:9 aspect ratio. There is no notch at the front, but you do get slim bezels, which gives the phone an 80 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, which is an octa-core processor paired with the Adreno 512 GPU. You get 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage, as standard. There is, however, a microSD card slot that allows you to add up to 400GB of extra storage.

The camera on the phone is said to be really good, according to Samsung. The company calls it an Intellicam, as it can intelligently adjust lighting conditions based on the time of the day, to provide a sharp and good image. The setup comprises of a primary 16MP sensor, and a secondary 2MP depth sensor. Both of these sensors have an f/1.7 aperture. The front camera is a 24MP unit, with f/2.0 aperture, which will surely make selfie aficionados very happy.

You get a 3700mAh battery inside the phone, which supports fast charging via a 15W charger. The phone also has Bluetooth 5.0 LE, NFC, and all the other important hardware that make it a smartphone. For connectors, you get the USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. It also supports Dolby Atmos, and ANT+.

The fingerprint sensor is located at the back of the phone. The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box, with Samsung Experience UI on top. It will also be getting an update to Android 9.0 Pie, when the OS is ready.
