The unboxing video confirms the Redmi Note 6 Pro will arrive with a metal unibody chassis, similar to its predecessor. Redmi Note 6 Pro: Specifications, Features

The Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro will come with a 6.26-inch Full Screen display featuring 1080 x 2280 Full HD+ resolution and a 19:9 aspect ratio, thanks to the notch at the top. While the display will be slightly larger when compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be pretty much identical to its predecessor in terms of performance. It will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz with an Adreno 509 GPU. In the memory department, the smartphone will reportedly be offered in two configurations – 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. For further expansion, the smartphone will include Hybrid Dual-SIM slots.

In terms of optics, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will feature dual cameras on both sides. At the rear will be a 12MP + 5MP setup with the primary sensor boasting 1.4um pixel size for improved low-light performance compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. For selfies, the smartphone will have a 20MP + 2MP setup on the front. In terms of camera features, both the front and rear cameras will come with AI Portrait Mode and a few other AI-backed enhancements. Connectivity features will include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, FM radio, and 4G VoLTE. Just like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the upcoming Redmi Note 6 Pro will include Face Unlock support as well as a fingerprint sensor mounted at the rear. Keeping the lights on will be a 4000mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 support.

Redmi Note 6 Pro: Expected Price in India

Since the Redmi Note 6 Pro is not a huge upgrade when compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, it is not expected to carry a significant premium in terms of pricing. That said, we wouldn’t be surprised if Xiaomi prices the smartphone slightly higher compared to its predecessor. The Redmi Note 5 Pro currently starts at Rs.14,999 for the base variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant is priced at Rs.16,999. We can expect the Redmi 6 Pro 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant to be priced at slightly higher than Rs.15,000. On the other hand, the 3GB RAM variant of the smartphone might be priced somewhere around Rs.13,000. A 6GB RAM variant of the Redmi Note 6 Pro has not been confirmed yet.
