Xiaomi is launching several products today. The electronics and gadgets are spread over multiple categories, including home security, entertainment, fitness, and travel accessories as well. The company is leading today’s launch event with the eagerly awaited Xiaomi Mi Band 3, a fitness and activity tracker with multiple unique features.
Xiaomi could launch a total of five brand new Smart Living products today. In addition to the Mi Band 3, the company is expected to launch four other innovative and feature-packed gadgets that significantly improve upon the simple variants commonly available in India. A few days back, Xiaomi India confirmed on Twitter that it will launch the Mi Band 3 along with four other ‘Smart Living’ products. Last week, Xiaomi Global VP and Managing Direct Manu Kumar Jain teased about the launch of the Mi Band 3 in India. Soon after, a teaser page for the fitness tracker went now live on Amazon India.

Xiaomi Mi Band 3: Expected Price, Specifications, Features
The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 succeeds the Mi Band 2 that the company launched almost two years ago. Xiaomi currently sells the Mi Band 2 in India for Rs.1,799. In China, Xiaomi sells the standard Mi Band 3 version without NFC for CNY 169, which translates to Rs.1,800 approx. in India. The wrist-wearable fitness and activity tracker will be an Amazon India exclusive product. However, Xiaomi will also sell the smart wearable on its Mi.com e-commerce platform. We expect only the standard base variant of the Xiaomi Mi Band 3 without the NFC feature to arrive today.

The Xiaomi Mi Band 3 sports a large 0.78-inch OLED touchscreen display with 128 x 80 resolution. A layer of scratch-resistant glass and an anti-fingerprint coating protects the device. The Mi Band 3 can display up to 24 characters. This allows users to send messages, make calls, and even receive meeting invitations on the device. The fitness tracker can display notifications from various apps such as WhatsApp and Facebook, text messages, weather information, caller ID, and more.
The Mi Band 3 promises improved fitness activity tracking with support for real-time display of running, cycling, and walking data. Xiaomi assures the device is waterproof up to 50 meters. With an updated algorithm with always-on heart rate monitoring, the device features a more accurate heart rate sensor. The device can also record sleep information every night to help users adjust, modify, and improve their sleeping patterns.

Interestingly, there’s also a Sedentary Reminder feature that will urge users to get up, walk, and stretch, when they remain seated for a long period of time. Also, the Mi Band 3 can serve as a security layer to unlock compatible and synced Android smartphones. Moreover, the device can reject calls, and do more quick activities without needing to touch the phone.
Three Mi Smart TVs, Mi Home Smart Security Camera, 90 Point Suitcase: Expected Price, Specifications, Features
Apart from the Xiaomi Mi Band 3, the company could launch three smart TVs, Mi Home Smart Security Camera, and the 90 point Suitcase. Xiaomi recently launched the Mi TV 4C, Mi TV 4S, and Mi TV 4X in China. The display size for the three TVs range from 32-inches to 55-inches, and all of these run Xiaomi’s Smart TV Patchwall User Interface (UI).
Xiaomi is known to keep the prices of its TVs very attractive, and the products launching today should not be an exception. Although the company has not confirmed the prices yet, we expect the Smart TVs may start from just Rs. 11,000 and go as high as only Rs. 29,999 for the top-end variant.

The Mi Home Smart Security Camera features night-time video recording support. It has a rather humble 2MP primary camera. However, it is able to capture 130-degree wide angle footage. An intuitive Android app can easily control the security camera and buyers can also view footage captured by the device. Xiaomi assures the Mi Home Smart Security Camera is going to be affordable. We expect the company may price the security peripheral at around Rs. 2,999.
The Xiaomi Mi 90 point Suitcase 1A is essentially a travel accessory. However, at its core, it’s supposed to be a sturdy suitcase that can house travel necessities. Also, the company may launch two variants of the suitcase. The smaller, 20-inch variant of the 90 Point suitcase may cost Rs. 3,200, while the larger, 44-inch variant may cost Rs. 4,500.
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch several such innovative and tech-infused products in India. However, the specifications, features, and prices of the gadgets may differ from their Chinese variants. The Chinese tech giant should confirm the details about these five products today at the launch event.
