Amazon has launched PayCode, a payment platform that combines physical and digital currency processing for buyers that do not have access to products on their regional Amazon website. In other words, with Amazon PayCode, the e-commerce platform has effectively opened up access to products stored in some foreign Amazon warehouse to customers situated elsewhere.

Amazon PayCode Opens Up Product Access To Remote Customers With Limited Regional Access

PayCode is essentially meant for buyers who wish to purchase from Amazon but the intended products is not listed on their regional Amazon website. These products must be shipped from Amazon’s warehouse in another country.

Amazon assures PayCode is a convenient and safer alternative payment method. Customers uncomfortable with paying through online channels for products that are not regionally located or available can surely benefit. These cross-border transactions have previously been a little risky in nature. Hence Amazon is offering the comfort and assurance of paying in local currency. Moreover, interested buyers can pay a Western Union agent in person, eliminating the need to make online payments.

Amazon PayCode isn’t available on every regional website of the e-commerce company. Buyers in a few select countries will see PayCode as a method of payment during the checkout stage. Moreover, the applicability and eligibility of the PayCode system will largely depend on the Western Union outlets. In other words, a payment processing kiosk of Western Union must participate in the Amazon PayCode program.

Needless to mention, the entire PayCode payment method will piggyback on the robust and widespread Western Union’s money movement platform. The payment handling and processing company will take care of the foreign exchange and settlement process. On the other hand, Amazon can offer more of its products for international shipping to its prospective customers in several more regions around the world.

Amazon PayCode is available and valid in India. However, interested buyers cannot access all the products that Amazon sells elsewhere. The company’s Amazon Global Store program is a good place to start browsing for products that customers can access and pay for, using the Amazon PayCode system in association with their locally available Western Union payment processing center or an agent.

Interested buyers, who wish to avail the Amazon PayCode payment method, should first verify the availability of Western Union payment facility. Then browse and select the products from the Amazon’s foreign store. Amazon will convert the price of the product in the buyers’ local currency at the time of checkout.
