Amazon Pay Code, a revolutionary new offline payment collection mechanism, is now available on several products selling on Amazon.com. The e-commerce giant is relying on the widespread network of Western Union a global payment handling, collection and facilitator. The agency will manage payment collection and authorization, while Amazon will ship products from remote warehouses.
Amazon recently launched the Amazon PayCode, an interesting approach to offline payment collection. Incidentally, the Amazon PayCode has a much bigger purpose of opening up access of several products on Amazon’s global store. Previously, several of these products were unavailable on Amazon’s regional websites. However, with Amazon PayCode, the company can safely and securely conduct business with its customers in cash transactions. Meanwhile, the customers have the assurance and convenience of paying in physical and local currency. The customers do not have to worry about transacting in foreign currency even though their desired product will most likely arrive from a foreign location.
Amazon PayCode Now Available On Several Products On Amazon Global Store
Earlier when we had reported about the Amazon PayCode, there were very few products that buyers could pay using Amazon PayCode. Moreover, there were very even fewer eligible regions. Now several more products are within reach of prospective customers. Previously, such a large number of products that are yet to be available locally were completely out of reach to these customers.
The product list with Amazon PayCode as a payment option is rising steadily. However, the process is a little lengthier than the standard checkout. Amazon asks interested customers to provide some additional information that it will use to process the payment at a Western Union agent location.
The price of the product, sitting somewhere in a remote Amazon warehouse, is converted in local currency only at the time of checkout. Upon completion of checkout, buyers receive a special code and a set of simple instructions.
The instructions basically inform the customer to take the code to the nearby Western Union outlet and pay the final amount. It also mentions the need to carry a valid identity proof. It is important to note that the photo ID must match the information the buyer provided during the checkout on Amazon.com. Upon successful payment, buyers receive a confirmation mail from Amazon that includes important details about the order including shipping details. Buyers have 48 hours to make the payment, else the order cancels automatically.
Amazon PayCode Conditions, Eligibility
Amazon has put up a FAQ page that reveals the privileges, conditions, rules and regulations of Amazon PayCode. Buyers must note that the desired product must be “export eligible”. In simple words, products that cannot be exported or shipped with proper regulations are not available for purchase.
Not all countries have Amazon PayCode support. Buyers must be from the “supported country” to pay using Amazon PayCode. Interestingly, Amazon has set some safety limits on the purchase and products. For example, Amazon PayCode will be absent as a payment option if the order value exceeds the maximum value allowed for use.
Amazon is also allowing refunds, which will obviously have to fulfill some conditions. Buyers interested in returning the product can simply request a return by visiting the My Orders’ section on Amazon.com. Amazon will issue a refund code. However, the e-commerce platform will have to receive the item first. The Western Union outlet will accept the refund code and issue the refund. If buyer fails to collect the refund within six months, Amazon will automatically transfer the same to the Amazon Gift Card balance
