Nvidia recently unveiled its latest gaming graphics cards called the GeForce RTX 2080/2080 Ti. And now, Asus has also announced some new cards that are based on the new RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. Asus launched the ROG Strix, Asus Dual, and the Asus Turbo graphics cards in Mumbai today.
The latest cards feature GDDR6 memory and support 4K and VR. These cards come with a brand new cooling setup to make sure you can play longer. The cards can be used to connect to upcoming VR headsets that require a single cable(VirtualLink). ROG has been manufacturing graphics cards from a very long time now. It is well known in the gaming community, and a lot of users prefer Asus cards over other OEMs.
The RTX platform from Nvidia uses the new Turing GPU architecture and come with features such as real-time ray tracing, programmable shading, and AI. Alright, let’s talk about the new graphics cards from Asus. Like we said earlier, the company has released three models right now.
Asus ROG Strix, Asus Dual, Asus Turbo RTX 2080/2080 Ti – Price in India
Well, these cards are not going to be cheap. Asus hasn’t unveiled the pricing for its new graphics cards yet. However, the cards are available for pre-order in USA and Canada. Pricing for these regions have been unveiled.
In the U.S., the ROG Strix GeFornce RTX 2080 OC Edition costs $869.99, the Asus Dual GeForce RTX 2080 OC Edition costs $839.99, and the Asus Turbo GeForce RTX 2080 Ti costs $1209.99. The Ti edition is more powerful variant, and the Dual version of the same will cost you $1239.99. Other variants are also available, but pricing hasn’t been revealed.
Going by this pricing, we can expect the cards to start at around Rs. 60000.
Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2080/2080 Ti
The new ROG Strix cards are manufactured using Auto-Extreme technology and also use new Axial-tech fans, three of them, to keep the Turing chipset cool. The fans have reduced hub size with longer blades, which makes them stronger and more silent even under medium loads.
Until the GPU temps reach 55 degree celcius, the fans are not turned on. This means that you can perform normal tasks and even some light gaming without the need for the fans to switch on. The new heatsinks(2.7 slot) have 20 percent more surface area, spreading heat more efficiently. For ports, the ROG Strix has 2 X HDMI 2.0b, 1 X USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2, 2 X Display port 1.4, and up to 11GB of GDDR6 memory.
ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 2080/2080 Ti
The Dual series from Asus feature two fans and use the same heatsink design from the ROG Strix model. The fans on the cards have new designs and come with IP5X dust resistance rating. The new heatsink design on the Dual cards provide 50 percent more surface area for cooling, when compared to older models.
This means that you can further overclock the cards and have a more silent gaming experience with the new fans. The Dual series cards have 1 X USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2, 1 X HDMI 2.0b, 3 X Display Port 1.4, and up to 11GB of GDDR6 memory as well.
ASUS Turbo GeForce RTX 2080/2080 Ti
Lastly, the Asus Turbo series of cards has an 80mm fan and a large heatsink. This card is mainly for those who have space constraints in their PC, or those who are using multiple cards. The Asus Turbo GeForce RTX has a newly designed shroud that sucks in more air in to the heatsink.
The Turbo variants come with 1 X USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 port, 1 X HDMI 2.0b port, and 2 X Display port 1.4, with up to 11GB of GDDR6 RAM.
