Samsung Galaxy J2 Core Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition smartphone officially announced

Samsung has finally taken the wraps of its first Android Go Editon smartphone, the Galaxy J2 Core, for the Indian and Malaysian markets. The device has been in the news from the past few months, with multiple leaks surfacing on the web including certifications, benchmarks, and hands-on images. Now that Samsung has finally made the handset official, let’s find out what the device actually offers.

Samsung Galaxy J2 Core: Availability

The Galaxy J2 Core comes in just a single colour – Gold . The price of the handset is not revealed as of now, but the Seoul-based manufacturer has confirmed that the phone will be available in the Indian and Malaysian market from today itself, i.e August 24th. Samsung has also confirmed that it will be available in a few other countries as well in the near future.

The smartphone features a 5-inch TFT display with qHD 540 x 960 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a Samsung’s in-house 1.4GHz quad-core Exynos 7570 processor, which is paired with a Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. The smartphone packs 1GB of RAM, 8GB onboard storage, and has a microSD card slot for further expansion. On the software front, it runs Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition) out of the box, offering all of Google’s native Apps in a single package.Imaging-wise, the Galaxy J2 Core sports an 8MP rear camera with an f/2.2 aperture and an LED flash. For selfies and video calling, the device comes with a 5MP shooter that has the same f/2.2 aperture. The smartphone measures 143.4 x 72.1 x 8.9mm in terms of dimensions and weighs 154 grams. Connectivity-wise, you get dual-SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, FM Radio, and a 3.5mm audio port. Keeping the lights on is a relatively small 2600mAh battery.
