Vodafone Launches Rs.209, Rs.479, Rs.529 Prepaid Recharge Plans to Offer Up to 135GB of 4G Data

Telecom giant Vodafone has now added three new plans to its prepaid kitty. All three plans offer 1.5GB of mobile data per day. The company can now be able to offer a full array of prepaid plans that including 1.4 GB, 1.5 GB, 2 GB and 3 GB mobile data per day.

Vodafone’s new plans explored:

The first plan that is under offer is the Rs. 209 plan that comes with 1.5 GB mobile data per day on offer. This plan comes with a validity period of 28 days. The next plan is the Rs. 479 plan that also offers 1.5 GB of mobile data with a validity period of 84 days. The third and final plan is the Rs. 529 plan that also offers 1.5 GB of mobile data per day that comes with a validity period of 90 days.

Thus, this effectively means that the telecom operator is offering 42 GB of mobile data in the first plan, 126 GB of mobile data in the second plan and 135 GB of mobile data in the third plan, when considering the cumulative benefits over the validity period.

Other benefits explored:

Vodafone India, which is currently in talks with Idea Cellular, over a long protracted merger, has launched these plans in a view to compete with Reliance Jio, who also offer a 1.5 GB mobile data per day in their plans.

However, these plans launched by Vodafone may seem slightly redundant or duplicate, as similar 1.4 GB mobile data plans are offered by Vodafone. Currently three plans are being offered by Vodafone India, where 1.4 GB of mobile data per day are offered under these plans. The three plans are the Rs. 199, Rs. 448 and Rs. 509 plans that come with different validity periods. The only addition now is the 100 MB of extra mobile data that comes with the new plans.

As of now, the plans have been launched only in select circles. But it is expected that the company will soon extend these plans to all mobile circles across the country. Initially, the company is expected to at least extend these plans in the 4G circles in the country.

Apart from the mobile data offerings, the other benefits that the company has offered are the bundling in of unlimited voice calls that are capped at 250 minutes per day and also 1000 minutes per week. These voice calls can only be made to 100 different mobile numbers during the validity period. The plan also bundles in 100 free SMSes per day throughout the validity period.

Users of this plan will also receive access to Vodafone’s OTT services. The company has its own OTT service in the form of Vodafone Play that provides streaming of more than 300 TV channels and media content from popular online media stores such as HOOQ, Eros Now and more.

Those who subscribe to these three plans will get a premium pass to Vodafone Play services for the length of the validity period. With the launch of these three plans, Vodafone has closed the gap on Reliance Jio, at least in terms of its 1.5 GB plans, which are similar to Reliance Jio both in terms of pricing as well mobile data benefits. It is expected that Idea and Airtel will soon follow suit.
