New Samsung Smartwatch Spotted On FCC
The wireless module in question is identified as the ‘A3L’ and supports LTE, Bluetooth/Bluetooth Low Energy as well as b/g/n networks. What can be confirmed courtesy of FCC is the Bluetooth frequency range which overlaps with certain cellular bands, ranging from a frequency of 825.5-847.5 MHz (with a power output of 27mW) to 2.506-2.68 GHz (with a power output of 240 mW). In all likelihood, this is Samsung’s attempt at viewing the future of connectivity. The FCC source mentions the device as “Licensed Non-Broadcast Transmitter Worn on Body”, confirming the fact that it will make an appearance in a wearable device soon enough. This device module will perform better than the current standard considering the improvements it boasts of. However, all of this is on paper and must be validated by real-world tests.
For now, we only have FCC details about the wearable. There are no details concerning the launch of the smartwatch, it is only on-paper.
Could It Be Like Galaxy Watch?
Samsung recently launched the Galaxy Watch in two variants – 46mm and 42mm alongside the Galaxy Note 9. The wearable is priced at Rs 29,990 and Rs 24,990, respectively for both the 46mm and 42mm variants. It featured rotating bezel and an Always-On OLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass DX+ protection for the display. It is 5 ATM water resistant, which makes it usable in water surroundings but not in extreme water surrounding like doing activities like Scuba Diving. Besides, the wearable also included military-grade MIL-STD-810 certification.
Under the hood, the Galaxy Watch is powered by a 1.15GHz Exynos 9110 Dual core processor and heart rate sensor. It also includes advanced sleep tracking monitors. The 46mm model is backed by a 472mAh battery and 42mm by a 270mAh battery. On the software side, it runs Tizen OS 4.0 OS.
