Xiaomi is particularly good at manufacturing smartphones with very small differences in hardware. This is done mainly to keep the audience on its feet and to garner the much-needed attention that the launch of a new smartphone brings. A typical example of this is the similarities between the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and that of the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro. Both devices are essentially alike in terms of their hardware specifications. They are powered by the same Snapdragon 625 SoC and are coupled with the same amount of RAM. In fact, apart from the notched display on the Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro, both devices even look alike in terms of their appearance. The Redmi 6 Pro does have a few upgraded features over the Redmi Note 5, but the differences are negligible.

Redmi 6 Pro vs Redmi Note 5: 3 Upgraded Features
At first glance, the easiest difference to spot between both devices is the screen size, resolution, aspect ratio, and of course the notch. The Redmi 6 Pro has a slightly smaller screen size of 5.84-inches as compared to the 5.99-inch display on the Redmi Note 5. The Redmi Note 6 Pro also comes with one of the most characteristic features of 2018 smartphones, a notched display. Needless to say, the notch is basically implemented to allow for more screen space and also houses the front-facing camera. In addition to this is, it has a slightly better resolution of 1080x2280p and a 19:9 aspect ratio. This means that the Redmi 6 Pro will have a sharper screen and a better screen-to-body ratio.
Apart from the notched display, another feature which makes the Redmi 6 Pro a modern phone over the Redmi Note 5 smartphone. The Redmi Note 5 smartphone was equipped with a 12MP sensor while the Redmi 6 Pro is equipped with a dual-rear camera setup of 12MP+5MP. The device is even capable of Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS) for videos. The low-light quality has also been improved, making the Redmi 6 Pro quite an upgrade in terms of camera performance over the Redmi Note 5. However, both smartphones have the same 5MP front-facing selfie camera.
Last but not the least is the dedicated microSD card slot which the Redmi 6 Pro comes with. This isn’t the same for the Redmi Note 5. In addition to this, the Redmi 6 Pro also supports a larger capacity storage via microSD card of 256GB compared to the 128GB expandable storage support on the Redmi Note 5.
