Rumours suggest that the next update is codenamed “Sun Valley”. The upcoming Microsoft Event’s invite has also a slightly new Windows logo. Microsoft has announced a new event on June 24. The company is likely to unveil some new changes it is bringing to Windows 10.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella had previously teased some major updates coming to Windows later this year. Rumours suggest that the upcoming Windows update will be called Windows 11. It is said to bring some design changes and fresh new icons.

Alongside, the company is also said to be working on a Windows App Store. It is aimed at improving the user experience while offering better tools to help developers create apps. Nadella, at the event last week, had stated that the new Windows App Store will unlock a better economy for developers and creators within Windows itself.

The rumour mill claims that Microsoft could allow third-party payment services within apps to help developers avoid the 15 per cent transaction fee that Microsoft charges. The Redmond-based company will also redesign some of the Windows 95-era icons like File Explorer, Recycle Bin, etc. These new changes are likely to roll out in October 2021. Meanwhile, the company has also announced that it will retire Internet Explorer next year. The company has already replaced Edge as its primary browser for Windows 10.
