Bose QuietComfort 45 Launch Price Tipped in Adorama Pre-order Listing: How Much Will it Cost in India?

The Bose QuietComfort 45 premium active noise cancelling over-ear headphones is close to being launched. The headphones have now been listed on Adorama for preorders in USA, for a price of $329. The move comes before an official announcement by the company, which is expected soon. It also backs up previous reports that the new Bose QuietComfort 45 will cost $329, and will therefore sit below the Bose NC700, which comes with a different design and an even more premium appeal, at Rs 34,500 in India and $379 in USA.

The QC45 is slated to be an incremental upgrade over its predecessor, the QC35 II. It is expected to switch to a USB-C port, and deliver 24 hours of playback time with an improved battery pack. It is also expected to get a fourth microphone, and the quad mic array is expected to improve voice reception – something that will not only improve call quality, but also handsfree digital assistant interactions such as with Siri, Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa on compatible devices.

The Bose QuietComfort 45 may also come with improved high definition audio playback, and on this front, feature better audio chops. This, however, will most likely make incremental improvements over its already reliable sound quality. It is also expected to get two modes – a Quiet Mode for active noise cancellation, and an Aware Mode for filtering in ambient noise. All of these features are more or less within the expected set of features in a premium, over-ear noise cancelling pair of headphones, so it would be interesting to see if it features any other trick up its sleeve as well. In terms of its design, however, the QC45 look nearly unchanged from the QC35.

Once it is launched, the Bose QuietComfort 45 will have plenty of competition around. The Sony WH-1000XM4 is a leader of the pack of sorts, with other options such as the Bowers & Wilkins PX5, the Shure Aonic 50 and the Sennheiser Momentum 3, among others. As a result, the QC45 may cost within Rs 30,000 in India, given that the NC700 sits above it – and the Sony 1000XM4 is already retailing at just Rs 26,990 in India right now.
