Samsung might soon launch a wireless charger. A Samsung wireless charger has been spotted on the FCC certification website ahead of its official unveiling. The charger has the model number EP-P2400 as per the listing. The FCC certification reveals the charging speed details along with some images of the charging pad. It is possible that this new wireless charger from Samsung could be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S22 series smartphones, which are likely to launch in Q1 2022. While we wait for some official confirmation on the launch, let’s take a look at the Samsung Wireless Charger spotted on the FCC website.
Samsung Wireless Charger
Samsung might unveil a new wireless charger. The charging device is listed on the US FCC website, revealing its design and other key details. As mentioned above, the charging pad has the model number EP-P2400. Images attached in the listing revealed that the charging pad is flat (and not a stand like a Pixel Stand). It seems to be connected to a USB Type-C cable for power. The FCC listing of the Samsung wireless charger also confirms that the device supports 25W fast charging out of the box.
The charging pad was tested on three Samsung devices. These include the Galaxy S21, the Note 10, and the Galaxy Buds. The S21 supports only 15W wireless charging and therefore, the wireless charger could not charge the device at its full 25W capacity. However, it is possible that Samsung increases the wireless charging speed of its upcoming flagship smartphones and launch the S22 series with 25W wireless fast charging support.
The company is also rumoured to increase the charging speed cap on its top-end S22 smartphone, which is likely to be called the S22 Ultra or the S22 Note. This device is said to get support for up to 45W wired fast charging. Like the S21 series, Samsung is unlikely to include a charging brick with the device.
