POCO F3 Confirmed to Launch in India and Globally as Rebranded Redmi K40, Spotted on IMEI Database, FCC Certification

Xiaomi recently announced the Redmi K40, K40 Pro, and K40 Pro+ smartphones in China. And, the fact that the base Redmi K40 model will be making a global debut under POCO branding is no secret. This was revealed earlier through the phone’s listing on Infocomm Media Development Authority listing (IMDA).

Well, we now have yet another confirmation that the Redmi K40 will make its global debut, including India, under the POCO branding. The phone could be called the POCO F3 for the global markets. The device has now gained FCC certification and was even spotted at India IMEI Database with POCO branding. Let’s check out more details ahead:

Redmi K40 to Launch in Global Markets as POCO F3

The handset that has been certified by FCC carries model number as the M2012K11AG under the POCO branding. The device will have a 5G support as mentioned in the FCC documents. If we recall the earlier details, the same handset was certified with a model number as the M2012K11AC, which later debuted as the Redmi K40 in China.

As far as the details via the IMEI database go, the smartphone is mentioned under the POCO branding with same M2012K11AG model number. Additionally, the IMEI certification even confirms that the model M2012K11AG will be making its debut as POCO F3 in the global market. The same device in the past has even gained the required Indonesia Telecom, Indonesia’s TKDN, EEC, and TUV Rheinland certification.

Furtheremore, we are aware of the fact in the past Redmi devices have made their global debut under POCO branding. The POCO F2 Pro was rebranded as the Redmi K30 Pro in the international market, while the Redmi K30 debuted as the POCO X2 in selected markets, including India. So, it’s fairly certain from the certification listing that this time the Redmi K40 will make its debut as POCO F3.

To recap of the specs of the Redmi K40, it features a 6.67-inch AMOLED E4 TrueTone display with a 120Hz refresh rate display. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by a  Snapdragon 870 SoC, which is aided by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There are other models as well which come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage.

In terms of imaging, the Redmi K40 sports a triple camera setup that consists of a primary 48MP camera, while the other two sensors are 8MP and 5MP respectively. For selfies and video-calling, the device features a 20MP camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The Redmi K40 runs Android 11 out of the box. The whole package is fueled by a 4520mAh battery that has 33W fast-charging support.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 launch is confirmed for March 10. The Taiwan-based smartphone company will unveil its flagship gaming smartphone in India and other markets. Ahead of the launch, the ROG Phone 5 has been spotted on Geekbench. The listing reveals that the phone will come with a whopping 18GB of RAM. Alongside, the phone is also available for pre-order on China’s JD.com. The listing on JD does not reveal much about the gaming smartphone. The ASUS ROG Phone 5 will come with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The smartphone’s specifications have leaked in the past as well. ASUS ROG Phone 5 likely to be the world’s first gaming smartphone to equip 18GB RAM

ASUS will launch the ROG Phone 5 on March 10. Ahead of the launch, the smartphone has visited the Geekbench website, revealing its key specs. 

According to the Geekbench listing, the ASUS ROG Phone 5 (model ASUS_I005DB) will come with a whopping 18GB of RAM. It could well be the first smartphone to pack that amount of RAM. ASUS ROG Phone 3 came with up to 16GB of RAM. Samsung too launched the Galaxy S21 Ultra with 16GB of RAM. 

The Geekbench 5 listing also revealed the ROG Phone 5 single-core and multi-core scores. The device scored 1113 and 3468 in Geekbench 5 tests. It will also run on Android 11 out of the box.

The ROG Phone 5 has been listed on JD.com ahead of the launch. The listing does not reveal much about the device. The website is only taking pre-orders of the gaming smartphone at the moment.

ASUS ROG Phone 5 specifications 

The ROG Phone 5 has been spotted on several certification websites. The phone is expected to have the same design as its predecessor. A DxOMark audio review of the ROG Phone 5 showed the smartphone’s rear panel sporting a matrix display.

Leaked specifications further suggest that the ROG Phone 5 will have a 6.7 inch FHD+ display with and a minimum of 12GB RAM with 128GB storage. There is a 16GB RAM variant too, which is expected to have 256GB storage inside. The device will be powered by a 6000 mAh battery. It will have Android 11 out of the box.

OPPO has confirmed that the Find X3 Pro will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC under the hood. 

As per leaked images, the Find X3 Pro will sport a curved edge-to-edge 6.7-inch display with a hole-punch cutout on the top-left corner. The screen will support adaptive refresh rate between 10Hz and 120Hz. 

The Pro smartphone is tipped to feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera sensor. It will also have a secondary 50MP ultra-wide camera sensor, a 13-megapixel telephoto camera sensor with 2x optical zoom, and a 3-megapixel macro camera.
