POCO F1: Specifications, Features
POCO F1 is the first smartphone from the Xiaomi sub-brand POCO in India. The device goes by the name Pocophone F1 in other markets. The smartphone features a 6.18-inch Full HD+ resolution IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2246 and an aspect ratio of 18.7:9. The screen is layered by a coating of Corning Gorilla Glass to protect the device from any physical damage.
The most notable specification of the device is the hardware loaded underneath. Under the hood, the POCO F1 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor, which is found in all the premium and flagship Android devices. The Xiaomi POCO F1 also comes with support for the LiquidCool technology. This keeps the device cool and its performance intact while you are indulged in intense gaming sessions. The POCO F1 ships in three different storage configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM+ 128GB storage, and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage. The smartphone comes with Hybrid Dual-SIM slots. You get the option to expand the internal storage by up to 256GB using a microSD card.
For imaging, there is a 12MP + 5MP dual-camera setup with a Sony IMX363 primary sensor coupled with a f/1.9 aperture and a secondary Samsung depth- sensor. The POCO smartphone gets several AI-powered functionalities that add to the popularity of this mid-range device. The company claims that camera unit can detect over 206 scenes across 25 categories and comes with an AI-assisted Portrait Mode as well.
The front of the device houses a 20MP camera unit for selfies and video calling. The front-facing camera also serves for IR Face Unlock that is claimed to unlock the device in just 0.4 seconds. The POCO F1 comes loaded with a 4000mAh capacity battery that comes with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. The POCO F1 comes with a superior battery life than most of its rival devices. The battery unit on the POCO device is better than most of its rivals in the price segment.
On the connectivity front, the options that tag along with the POCO F1 include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, USB Type-C port, and Dual 4G VoLTE. Some of the other features that you get with the POCO F1 include a dual smart PA for clear audio, Dirac HD sound and a standard rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, common to most of the Xiaomi devices. The base variant of the POCO F1 with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage sells for Rs.20,999, while the one with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model is priced at Rs.23,999. There is a more expensive Armored Edition as well that comes with a price tag of Rs. 29,999.
