ASUS now confirmed it will launch the ZenFone Max Pro M2 “gaming smartphone” in the India on December 11. The company has been offering some interesting snippets of information on social media platforms for the past few days. The upcoming ZenFone Max Pro M2 will have a large capacity battery similar to the current ZenFone Max Pro M1. Considering the rising importance of India as a smartphone market, the successor to the Max Pro M1, the device will launch in India and a few other markets in December.

The Zenfone Max Pro M2 is an interesting smartphone that should succeed the Zenfone Max Pro M1. ASUS has been offering quite a few details and specifications about the device on social media platforms. Several Tweets from ASUS have been regularly revealing important aspects of the ASUS smartphone. The company even released a video that introduced the smartphone. ASUS claims the Zenfone Max Pro M2 offers ‘Next Generation Gaming’ experience.

Technically there are reportedly four variants of the ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2. While one is codenamed ZB631KL, the other one is ZB633KL. The third and fourth variant, codenamed ZB632KL and ZB634KL, could arrive in India.
Owing to the Tweets and other reports that have regularly surfaced about the Zenfone Max Pro M2, we have a fair idea what the Android smartphone offers. The ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 could feature a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Reports claim the smartphone will pack 14nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 octa-core processor. Its predecessor had the Snapdragon 636 SoC. The device could arrive in two memory variants: 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage, and 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage.
The ZenFone Max Pro M2 could feature a dual-camera setup at the rear. Incidentally, ASUS may embed the primary 13MP lens that the previous version had, in the upcoming smartphone. The biggest highlight of the Pro M2 is undoubtedly the massive 5,000mAh battery.
ASUS Zenfone Max Pro M2 India Launch, Expected Price
Incidentally, ASUS had launched the ZenFone Max M1 in India last month. Hence the confirmed arrival of Zenfone Max Pro M2 on December 11, is a little confusing. It is quite likely that the Pro M2 might not be the direct successor of the Pro M1. Instead, ASUS might just sell the ZenFone Max M2 alongside the ZenFone Max M1. In fact, the Pro M2 might be a mid-season revamped edition. Several companies, including Nokia, OnePlus, Realme,etc. offer slightly advanced and upgraded versions of their devices every six to eight months.
The currently available ZenFone Max Pro M1 starts at INR 10,999 for the base 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant, and goes up to INR 14,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant. Given the slightly better specifications, the ASUS ZenFone Max Pro M2 could sport a proportionally higher price tag. However, ASUS will certainly try and keep the price attractively low to compete against companies like Xiaomi, Honor, and other Chinese smartphone makers that have several capable devices in this price range. The smartphone is expected to rival the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, Honor 8X, the recently launched Realme U1 and the Xiaomi Mi A2.
