Redmi 7A Expected to Launch Alongside Redmi K20 and K20 Pro in India: Report

Anuj Sharma, Head of Marketing at Xiaomi India, has revealed it in an interview with 91Mobiles that the brand will soon launch the Redmi 7A smartphone in India. According to 91Mobiles, Anuj hasn’t revealed the exact launch date, but he did say that the Redmi 7A could launch in India alongside the Redmi K20 series smartphones, or in the next few days after that. The Redmi K20 series smartphones are expected to launch in India sometime between 15th and 17th of July.

The Redmi 7A is an entry-level smartphone, and it has already been launched in China. The Redmi 7A it comes as the successor to the Redmi 6A that is currently on sale in India. As the Redmi 7A is already out, we know its specifications and China pricing. Let us have a look.

Redmi 7A Price

Xiaomi has launched the Redmi 7A in China in two memory configurations – 2GB RAM + 16GB storage, and 2GB RAM + 32GB storage. The former costs CNY 549 (approximately INR 5,500) and the latter costs CNY 599 (approximately INR 6,000).

How much would the Redmi 7A cost in India? Well, I think the Redmi 7A might come with the same price tag in India as its predecessor, i.e., INR 5,999 for the 2GB + 16GB variant, and INR 6,499 for the 2GB + 32GB variant.

Redmi 7A Specifications

The Xiaomi Redmi features a 5.45-inch IPS LCD with HD+ resolution. Compared to its predecessor, the Redmi 7A has thinner bezels. The smartphone offers a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera; both with Full HD video recording capability.

Powering the Redmi 7A is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439; it has eight Cortex-A53 CPU cores and Adreno 505. Just so you know, the Snapdragon 439 is an optimized version of the Snapdragon 435. The smartphone ships with Android 9 Pie operating system and the OS has MIUI 9 customization over it. In spite of being an entry-level smartphone, the Redmi 7A packs a 4000mAh battery. Connectivity features include dual-SIM, dual-VoLTE, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.2, microUSB port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is worth mentioning that the Redmi 7A lacks a fingerprint scanner.
