Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Revealed Ahead of Launch in a New Official Poster, Here’s What We Know So Far

Xiaomi will be unveiling the successor to the Mi Band 3 at an event in China on June 11. Ahead of the wearable’s official introduction in its home market, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has shared a new teaser on Weibo that gives us our first clear look at the upcoming Mi Band 4 and its different strap color options. The Weibo post also highlights some of the key upgrades that the Mi Band 4 will bring to the table.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Poster Reveals Five Strap Color Options

The Mi Band 4 poster reveals Xiaomi’s upcoming fitness band will be available in at least five different strap color options. Apart from the usual Black, Orange, and Blue colors, the Mi Band 4 will be offered in Burgundy and Beige strap options as well. We can expect all of these color options to be made available for purchase in China soon after the official announcement on Tuesday. As you can see quite clearly in the poster below, the single biggest highlight of the Mi Band 4 will be its color display. The Mi Band 4 will actually be the first wearable in the Mi Band series to feature a color display.

Xiaomi Mi Band 4 Will Offer a Larger Display, Better Battery Life, and More

Until now, it was believed that the Mi Band 4 will have a similar-sized display as last year’s Mi Band 3. Lei Jun’s post, however, reveals that will not actually be the case. The Mi Band 4 will have a 39.9% larger display compared to the Mi Band 3. Since the Mi Band 3 has a 0.78-inch sized OLED screen, this means the Mi Band 4 will have a 1.09-inch sized color display. The wearable’s screen will have more than 16,000 colors and will apparently allow for “colorful personalized dials”.

The other major highlight of the Mi Band 4 is expected to be a larger 135mAh battery. However, thanks to the bigger color screen, we don’t expect the Mi Band 4 to offer better battery life than its predecessor. On the connectivity front, Mi Band 4 will come with Bluetooth 5.0 Low Energy support. Similar to the Mi Band 3, Xiaomi will be offering two versions of the Mi Band 4. The more expensive version of the Mi Band 4 will feature NFC and is likely to be sold only in a select few markets.
