Samsung Galaxy A30s Key Specifications Leaked, Tipped to Launch in India Soon: Report

The Samsung Galaxy A30s is expected to be a marginally upgraded variant of the Samsung Galaxy A30 (review) that launched earlier this year. According to 91mobiles, the Galaxy A30s will feature a triple rear camera, sport an Infinity-V display, and production for it has already begun in India. The existence of the Galaxy A30s was first confirmed via a Geekbench listing first spotted earlier this month.

According to 91mobiles’ source, the Galaxy A30s will sport an Infinity-V screen and a triple rear camera. In contrast, the existing Galaxy A30 comes with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that bears a Full HD+ resolution and a U-shaped notch up top. It also gets Gorilla Glass 3 protection. We don’t expect the new phone to feature any significant changes in its display spec other than the shape of the notch.

The rear cameras, however, seem to be the one aspect that will get the most significant upgrade. The Galaxy A30 already offers a 16MP + 5MP setup. The addition of a third lens on the Galaxy A30s might very well add the ability to take wide-angle shots.

The only other information revealed by the source is that production for the Galaxy A30s in India has already started. If this is true, the smartphone might very well be launching in the country in the coming months.

Based on the previously leaked Geekbench listing, we know that the Galaxy A30s will feature an octa-core processor that cocks as high as 1.59GHz and has been paired with 3GB of RAM. This CPU will likely be the same Exynos 7904 SoC found on the Galaxy A30. We also know that the upcoming phone will run on Android 9 Pie with One UI skin on top.

Other Galaxy A30 specifications that the Galaxy A30s will likely share include the battery at 4000mAh that supports 15W fast charging over a USB Type-C port. The selfie camera should be a 16MP sensor. A triple card tray is also likely to trickle down. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor included as the primary means of biometric security.
