A little while ago, we saw a couple of live shots of Vivo’s upcoming device dubbed the Vivo S5. The device will be known for a pretty unusual diamond-shaped rear camera setup. Contrary to the earlier belief that the device will launch in the month of December, the company has now confirmed that the device will launch in November only as the newly teased promotional video for the same confirms November 14 as the launch date.

Here is the official video that the company has posted on its Weibo handle.

Vivo S5 specifications and features
Judging by the tagline of the device (roughly translated from Chinese) i.e. “Illuminate your beauty”, it is safe to assume that the Vivo S5 will be yet another photography-centric smartphone by Vivo. Though the company has not confirmed any specification of the device whatsoever as of now, the rumor mill has a wild guess as to what the device is going to offer (as of now, take the specifications with a pinch of salt).
Judging by the image, both the power button and the volume rocker are on the right side of the device and the SIM tray will most likely be on the left side.
Starting things off with the display of the device, the Vivo S5 is tipped to sport a 6.5-inch FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch at the top. The display will give out a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels.
Under the hood, the device will most likely be powered with a MediaTek Helio P70 chipset which will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It is unclear as to whether or not there will be scope for further expansion, but going by the fact that most of the recently launched Vivo devices have an expandable storage option, it is safe to assume that the Vivo S5 will have one too.
As far as the cameras of the device are concerned, the Vivo S5 will likely feature a quad rear camera setup (48MP + 8MP + 5MP + 2MP) and a 32MP front camera.
Moving on to the battery, the Vivo S5 is reportedly going to feature a big 4200mAh battery. It, however, is not clear as to whether or not quick charging will be there.
The OS is, in all certainty, going to be Android 9 Pie out of the box with Vivo’s proprietary FunTouch OS on top of it.
The device will most likely retain a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As of now, this is all we know about the device and the rest of the specifications and the price are not confirmed as of now, but we are sure to receive further intel on the same in the coming days as the launch date approaches.
