A couple of days ago, we got to know from several sources about the MIUI 11 update rolling out for the Redmi Note 7 Pro devices in India. It is now turn for the standard Redmi Note 7 and the Redmi Note 7S to taste the latest iteration of Xiaomi’s custom skin as users of the devices have started receiving the official OTA updates on their devices.
As goes the company’s roadmap for the update, both these devices were set to get the update between October 22nd and October 31st, so the update is right on time.
MIUI 11 update for Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7S
The latest MIUI 11 update for both the Redmi Note 7 as well as the Redmi Note 7S comes with the build number MIUI 11.05.0.PFGINXM and weighs in at 712MB. On top of the update the Redmi K20 received, this one brings the October 2019 security patch as well.
In case you want to update your Redmi Note 7/Redmi Note 7S to the latest version (provided you haven’t received the official notification already), all you need to do is to hit About Phone > System Update and click on Check for updates. From there, if the update has already arrived on your device, you can get the latest MIUI sweetness just by the tap of a button.
If in case the update is not being shown on your device as of now, you might have to wait a couple of more days to get the same. Though unconventional, sometimes even restarting the device helps the case and you might just receive the notification.

Coming to the features of MIUI 11, there is a plethora of new features and fixes the latest iteration of MIUI has come up with, the most notable of them all being –

- A design overhaul in terms of the icons and the UI

- A redesigned calculator app (with a pop-up floating interface)

- Wallpaper carousel that lets users have a personalized lock screen
- A notification light-like experience to the lock screen
- Mi Go feature with an extreme power-saving mode
- A new custom skin ‘Milan Pro’ font
- Dynamic font changing feature
So far, the company appears to have adhered to its timelines as we have already started getting the MIUI 11 update in the likes of devices like Poco F1, Redmi K20, Redmi Note 7 Pro and now the Redmi Note 7 and the Note 7S have also joined the fray.
The Redmi Y3 and the Redmi 7 are next in line, so the users of these devices might want to tighten their seatbelts.
