Redmi Note 7 Pro MIUI 11 Stable Update with October Security Patch Rolling Out in India

During the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 series launch event in India, Xiaomi announced the MIUI rollout roadmap for the country. After the successful rollout of the latest iteration to the Redmi K20, it’s now the turn for the Redmi Note 7 Pro devices to taste the MIUI 11.

Redmi Note 7 Pro starts receiving MIUI 11 stable update in India

A lot of users on various social media platforms have started posting screenshots confirming that their devices have got the latest update. Sadly enough, a lot of users have still not been able to receive any such notification (that, however, does not appear to be the case for long and everyone will start receiving the update pretty soon now).

As seen in the image, the update weighs in at 746MB and will bring about the October security patch too (note that the Redmi K20 MIUI 11 update is still on the September security patch).

Though the official forum has not officially declared anything about the update, the images are more or less legit and we can expect an official confirmation in no time.

MIUI 11 features and changelog

As far as the features the latest iteration of MIUI brings with it are concerned, we get a design overhaul in terms of the icons, the UI (especially a native dark mode), Dynamic Lock Screen effects, Floating Calculator, Steps Tracker, nature-based notification sounds, a revamped Mi File Manager app, Short Video in the camera interface (that helps you record 15 seconds long videos that can be set as video wallpapers), a Wallpaper Carousel that lets users have a personalized lock screen, and some more. The notification light-like experience to the lock screen is one of the prime highlights of the update.

How to update the Redmi Note 7 Pro to MIUI 11?

In order to check whether your Redmi Note 7 Pro has received the update or not, all you need to do is to hit About Phone > System Update and click on Check for updates. Post that, if in case the update has arrived on your device, you can download it right away. If in case you don’t receive a notification regarding the same, it’s always a wise idea to keep on checking this settings menu item regularly. Though unconventional, sometimes even restarting the device helps the case and you might just receive the notification.

As of now, we are not sure as to when the update will begin rolling out officially, but it’s coming up soon and we will keep you updated on the same.

As far as the first batch of the devices that are set to receive the MIUI 11 update is concerned, these are the devices which are in line (from October 22 to October 31) for the update –

Poco F1, Redmi K20 (has already got the update), Redmi Y3, Redmi 7, Redmi Note 7, Redmi Note 7S, and Redmi Note 7 Pro (has started receiving the update).
