Honor Tab 6 with Kirin 810 SoC Tipped to Launch Alongside Honor V30 Series

Huawei-owned Honor is expected to launch two new V-Series smartphones in China soon. Successors to last year’s V20 (sold in India as the Honor View 20), the refreshed V-Series lineup will reportedly include two devices. The first device is the standard Honor V20 model, while the other device will be a pricier ‘Pro’ version of the phone with the Honor V20 Pro moniker. Additionally, if we are to believe a report by GizmoChina, Honor may also launch a new tablet called Honor Tab 6 at the same launch event. As of now, all we know is that Honor China plans to have this launch event later this year. The company is yet to divulge information regarding the exact date of launch.

The first reference to the Honor Tab 6 came from a Weibo user with the nickname Changan Digital Jun. In a post, he revealed that this upcoming tablet will feature the Kirin 810 SoC from HiSilicon. He was also quick to add that he is not sure about the information since all the info he had come from overhearing a conversation between two friends.

Honor Tab 6 rumors

The Honor Tab 6, if launched, will replace the Honor Tab 5 that was released by Honor back in March 2019. This tablet was targeted at the mid-tier users with its moderate specifications. The Honor Tab 5 came powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC. This chipset is based on a 12nm manufacturing process and integrates four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at up to 2.2 GHz, and four Cortex-A53 little cores clocked up to 1.7 GHz. It is sold in 3GB + 32GB and 4GB + 64GB versions, with both these versions getting a microSD card slot for additional memory. The tablet also supported 4G LTE networks and came with stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The display on the Honor Tab 5 measures 8-inches across and sports a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet runs Magic UI atop an Android 9 Pie core. The Honor Tab 6, however, is expected to ship with Android 10 out of the box.

It remains to be seen if the rumors surrounding the Honor Tab 6 does end up being true. As for the Honor V30 series, watch this space closely for any updates pertaining to those new handsets.
